It’s now fun time with greens! - Ice cream, custard , green tea recipes. Curious?
Having greens need not be yawn inducing and boring. Greens are so versatile and are available in so many varieties and flavours that they can be combined in ice creams and hot and cool drinks too. It’s time to get adventurous!
We are giving you a fun recipe here which you can definitely make today or soon because the ingredients are easily available and you don’t have to be a culinary expert to try this out. Anyone and everyone can make it. Infact you should encourage your kids to make it.
This recipe is of a custard. Yes!! A fruit and greens based healthy custard, free from dairy, sugar and any artificial ingredients. We like to call it the green custard.
2 frozen bananas
1 small bunch spinach leaves
A few grains of pomegranate for decoration
A little elaichi powder for flavour
Time: Less than 5 minutes excluding the time for freezing
Peel the bananas, slice into big chunks and keep in a freeze proof box for freezing around 8 hours.
Take them out of the fridge, let them thaw a bit
Meanwhile, wash the spinach leaves well and peel the pomegranate
Whizz up the bananas,spinach and elaichi powder in the blender till creamy. Add very little water to get it going
Pour into a bowl and decorate with a few grains of pomegranate.
And your green custard is ready!!
