Our upcoming online program, Posture Perfect aims to help you reduce the tension that you may not even be aware of and correct your posture effortlessly. The program is based on the unique Alexander Technique, which is a way of learning to identify and release tensions in yourself. It is the HOW of doing anything.

What is posture?

Posture is not just something that makes us look good. It is a way of using our muscles such that in any situation, we’re using only the muscles that we need to use, no more, no less. This is important because if we’re using less, we end up not being able to do what we want in an effective way. If we’re using more, we’re putting a huge strain on ourselves. 

Are you keeping a wrong posture?

The strain due to wrong posture shows up sooner or later as back or neck pain, strained shoulders, and a general feeling of being stressed. If you regularly see these symptoms in your body and the pain just doesn’t seem to go away, you must check your posture.

Do you need the correct posture?

Posture is not a position, it is the way we organise ourselves from moment to moment to deal with whatever is in front of us. It is fluid & dynamic, changing regularly, and is affected by our feelings and moods. It is not a pose or a position and is definitely not static. That is why all of us must know how to achieve keeping a fluid and yet optimum posture. Because we don't know how many hours a day we spend sitting or standing and having a good posture. 

What is this program about?

Posture Perfect aims to help participants reduce tension that they may not even be aware of. This brings about change from the inside, believing in the premise that posture is not something that you have to hold, but it is the natural result of everything working beautifully together, and therefore looks poised and effortless. 


What is the Alexander Technique? 

The program is based on the unique Alexander Technique, which is a self-development skill that helps modify unconscious established habits which cause avoidable tension in your daily routine. This technique can help you learn to:

  • Become aware of underlying muscle tensions

  • Release them, in stillness as well as movement

  • Allow your muscles to support you in the best way possible

The Alexander Technique improves overall wellbeing by bringing radically different quality of ease and integrity into life. You may apply it to cope with a specific problem, but soon find that it brings all kinds of unexpected and delightful additional benefits!

How can this program help?

While everyone agrees that a good posture is crucial, most of the people don’t have it and wish to know how to get it. This program will help you:

  • Become aware of your posture

  • Understand what is a good posture

  • Know how to maintain a correct posture

  • Learn how to do it throughout the day, while conducting regular activities

About Padmini Menon

She is the expert in Alexander Technique, who has been teaching this in India for the past 10 years and has trained at the Brighton Alexander Technique College in the UK. She has been working with people of all ages & professions including dancers, actors, sportsperson and elderly. She has cured them of issues ranging from RSI to chronic back, neck or shoulder pain. She has taught the technique to students at National School of Drama, Delhi, Whistling Woods Film School, umbai, and Dance Studies at Ambedkar University. She also conducts classes & workshops in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.
