What is your work-desk these days? Is it the dining table, the kitchen top, or the bed? If you have been experiencing pain in the neck, spine, or back, you might be a victim of lockdown-induced immobility, lack of sun exposure & improper work positions.
COVID 19 has brought along with it drastic lifestyle changes. With many of us sitting in improper positions for long hours, aches and pains abound for a wide range of age groups. Young people (30+) are also complaining of neck, back, or other joint pains more than ever before.
Rachna Bothra, an expert Yoga & Acupressure Therapist will coach you on how to relieve & prevent Back pain, Cervical spondylitis, and Knee pain with special Yoga asanas & Acupressure techniques in the upcoming ‘Back Pain & Cervical Spondylitis: Acupressure & Yoga Workshop.
How common are Back, Neck & Cervical pains?
Covid-19 has made us sit at home, decreasing mobility and increasing different kinds of muscular pains. We see an increasing number of cervical spondylitis, back pain & knee joint issues in people as young as 30 years. Earlier, these pains were associated with only older age groups (50+).
What is the reason behind back, neck, cervical & knee pain being so common?
Low mobility: Our sedentary lifestyle limits the movement of joints and muscles. Being inactive for a long period puts pressure on joints, causing uneven wear & tear, reduced flexibility, and aches.
Lack of Right Nutrition: Poor dietary habits, consuming a lot of junk or processed food, and less natural foods increase the problem.
Lack of Sunlight: Sun helps synthesize Vitamin D & absorption of Calcium in our bodies. Low sun exposure leads to weakened bones
Lack of exercise: Flexibility and muscle strength reduce without any kind of daily physical activity, leading to joint pains.
How can the workshop help?
The workshop has been designed specifically to address different musculoskeletal pains through Yoga Therapy, Acupressure & Right Nutrition - Holistic Healing Approach. The focus of the workshop will be on Back Pain, Cervical Spondylitis, Knee & other leg pains.
Yoga asanas help to relieve pain through stretching and strengthening muscles. Yoga poses teach your body proper alignment & maintaining good posture. Through specific yoga asanas muscles gain flexibility and balance.
Acupressure, an alternative medicine technique is a safe & painless practice for relieving, preventing & healing pains. By applying physical pressure to specific points in the body, the blockages in the ‘meridians’ are cleared. As per Acupressure, Meridians are the channels through which our life energy flows in the body.
Right Nutrition supports the holistic healing of pains by supplying your body with the required vitamins, minerals & other nutrients through whole foods and removing the causes of toxin accumulation that leads to pains.
What will you learn at the workshop?
You will learn about specific pressure points, Yoga asanas & diet to manage pains:
Acupressure point for Cervical Spondylitis ( 1 point )
Acupressure point for Joint pain relief (Back pain, Knee & legs pain - 10 points)
