Nature is a supreme healer. The human body has its own curing power. Our Vital energy assists us when we fall sick
Natural treatment plan
1. Maintain a proper circadian rhythm (Proper sleep and waking time) Sleep- Take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily. Frequent late nights ultimately take a toll on the body. The normal cycle of the body gets disturbed, the body gets depleted of vital energy needed to perform.
Unwind, have a proper sleep ritual, stop using any gadgets at least 2 hours before bedtime.
2. PracticeYoga daily. – Enhances flexibility, improves oxygen supply to the body parts including muscles, reduces stress, enhances sleep quality.
Asanas, pranayama, Kriyas, meditation all can be incorporated into your routine targeting specific problems.
Yoga: An eight-week study considering the benefits of yoga in pain relief found that 75-minute yoga sessions, twice per week, reduce pain.
You can do the following
3. Eat whole plant-based foods -
Eat foods that are raw, alkaline in nature, containing vital energy, are local, seasonal and fresh.
Raw food as much as possible. Let your diet be 50% of locally grown, seasonal and ripe fruits of your daily food intake. Vegetables could consist of 35% of your daily food intake. Grains could be 10% and nuts and seeds could consist of 5% of your daily dietary intake.
Sit down, chew your food properly, never eat your food in a rush, The FOOD MIND CONNECTION is important for the food to get digested and absorb efficiently.
Your last meal should be before sunset. This gives optimum time to digest the food before sleeping and is in sync with nature
Many fibromyalgia patients have underlying nutritional deficiencies and may be deficient in key nutrients including vitamins B12, C, and D, as well as folic acid and the essential mineral magnesium. Take a diet rich in these nutrients.
Elimination of food allergens such as – gluten (wheat and wheat products), casein (milk and milk products)
Avoid deep-fried, packed, processed, junk, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, refined carbohydrates, alcohol, smoking, non-vegetarian foods
4. Give digestive rest – Fasting at least once a week, be on fruits, coconut water or salads, so the body can conserve its efforts to clear toxins from the system.
5. Massage therapy - Helichrysum oil is shown to improve circulation, support the healing of nerve tissue and decrease muscle pain. Combine with coconut oil and massage into sore areas.
6. Thermal mud bath – Mud bath 15 minutes can help in relieving pain and stiffness. Mud also helps in the removal of toxins, Mud used once should be discarded and fresh mud should be used every time for the treatment
7. Sun therapy – in this modern era, we hardly get time to see the sun, packed inside our cubicles we get disconnected from nature. Make sure you go for a Daily sunbath 15 minutes early morning or late evening. It will connect you with nature as well as help you to heal. (helps increasing Vit D naturally and provides warmth to the muscles which)
8. Hydrotherapy – Drinking at least 3 L of water every day is vital to muscle health. Less water in the body causes muscles to become stiff and tight. Make sure you include enough water daily. You can also include detox water of different flavors eg, adding cinnamon, tulsi, clove, ginger or cucumber to your water according to the weather conditions
Warm bath by adding 2 drops of lavender essential oil and 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt in bathing water daily.
A steam bath once a week helps in removing toxins from the body and prevents muscles from getting sore.
9. Aromatherapy – Put 2 drops of Lavender essential oil on the pillow before sleeping to support sound sleep.
Aroma oil diffusion in the home can also help in overcoming stress and anxiety
10. Acupuncture – Works at pain gate theory and endorphin theory. Seek a licensed acupuncturist.
11. Music has been suggested to help provide an analgesic effect and improve functional mobility measured by the “timed-up and go task” in patients with fibromyalgia.
Conclusion – Fibromyalgia is a chronic debilitating syndrome that affects day to day functioning of an individual. It affects a person in all dimensions – physical mental emotional and is a great threat to a person’s progress in his/her life. Following a natural lifestyle and healing thru natural ways can really improve the quality of life and helps the person live a better life.
