I am 28, and suffering from PCOD since childhood.. I am facing problem in conceiving , I got married 5 years back. I am regularly maintaing my diet of 900-1000 cal with 30-40 min of fast walk. Kindly suggest some diet or tips or any life style change that can help me in conceiving....

Dear health seeker, 
     For your health issues of Pcod, a complete shake-up of your unhygienic lifestyle is warranted. Mother nature is very benevolent and throws out the toxins, morbid matter laid down in the system through a place or organ where it finds the easiest way of not disturbing the whole body and in cases of females pcod is the disease symptoms which gets affected earliest. But nothing to worry since there is no disease only lower level of health which can be reversed back to health in quick little time. Chart out the program as under:- 

  • Get up early and after answering the nature call take a non violent enema under an expert initially for a month or so. 
  • Go for a brisk walk to strengthen the abdominal muscles 
  • Sun basking for 30 minutes daily 
  • Drink any alkaline juice of durva grass or bael patra or banana stem juice 
  • Breakfast of fruits salads plus 1/4th coconut 
  •    Lunch should be of one or two roti or small bowl or organic  rice or brown rice 
  • Fruits juices in the afternoon or any fruits 
  • Spinal bath for 25 minutes before evening drink, it is very essential (if your town is cold then avoid till the advent of summer)instead of applying a stimulating wet pack over the abdomen for one hour. 
  • Dinner of only fruits and enough coconut scrappings or boiled vegetables and salads and coconuts for at least a fortnight  thereafter may take little rice or one roti 
  •    Apply abdominal wet pack for 20 minutes in the evening. (Weather permitting)
  • Do some yogic asanas to strengthen the abdominal and pelvic muscles 
  •     With the improvement of general health and the pcod getting cured, you stand a very good chance of conceiving 
  •    Have faith be fearless and seek the Grace of God .

It is wonderful you are maintaining some kind of physical activity. As far as food and caloric counting is concerned I believe a whole food plant-based diet is more important. This means including fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds in an unprocessed form. Counting calories does not serve any purpose. You might consume a low-fat soda, low-fat yoghurt, chips etc which might contain fewer calories than an eating 2 bananas, or 2 avocados. But, the above-processed foods do not provide the essential nutrients for the body. They only create havoc within your system. Before we understand what lifestyle changes need to done, lets briefly understand the working of our system in this context.

In mature females, every month the pituitary gland which is located at the base of the brain produces 2 female sex hormones. These hormones work in such a way to create a balance in the body which leads to either fertilization or if not fertilized leads to the monthly menstrual cycle. Estrogen and progesterone are hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle. If there is a hormonal imbalance in the body it leads to PCOS/PCOD. In this condition, a cyst or an abnormal growth in the uterus develops. This happens when over a period of time, the body is unable to eliminate the toxins from the body and they accumulate and form cysts. The cysts can dissolve when the right lifestyle choices are made. This includes maintaining the right body weight, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle changes. Hormonal imbalance in the body occurs when the body is under constant high periods of stress. This releases the hormone cortisol, which impacts the functioning of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone. Due to this constant high levels of stress, the brain gets the signal to store excess fat and slow the body's metabolism down. Due to this, the body avoids bringing in a new life in this universe. Therefore you might put on weight or have acne etc. Lifestyle changes would help solve all your health issues.

  • This includes the removal of all animal products including dairy, removal of packed and processed, oily and sugary foods. This creates an overload of toxins and disturbs the balance of the body.
  • Include lots of raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. They all contain essential vitamins and minerals for the normal functioning of the body.
  • Avoid excess of tea, coffee. This also triggers the production of cortisol.
  • Exposure to sunshine and proper rest and sleep are also of prime importance. They release happy hormones, and in a relaxed state, the body can repair and heal.
  • Manage stress either by some physical activity or deep breathing. This calms the body down. This helps the body to understand that there is no urgency and it can repair and heal.
  • Adequate sleep. The body repairs and heals during sleep.

Polycystic ovary disease (PCOD) is one of the commonest problems in young ladies which mostly occurs due to various environmental factors playing a vital role.

Polycystic ovary disease (PCOD) is a condition that creates an imbalance in a woman's hormone levels. Here in this condition, women produce higher levels of male hormones which might make the women skip the menstrual periods, which is why you would see irregular menstrual periods in women who suffer from this condition.

This condition is caused by insulin resistance, some genetical history or due to inflammation in the ovaries.

Treatment is a medical term in natural health system it is healing. Body heals itself we need to provide right conditions.

Current state implies high level of toxins and acidic levels in body.

Body is unable to clear toxins and it has accumulated in a particular body part.

Make following changes:

First thing in the morning have fruits (300-400gms)

Have 100-200 GM's salads before lunch and dinner

Another round of fruits in evening (200-300 GM's)

Reduce intake of grains in dinner

Reduce dairy intake

Avoid all processed foods
