I am working in bpo. I live in a pg and always suffer from cough. What remedies can I adopt?

Mulethi is easily available in the grocery stores near you, it is time that you take mulethi with honey and consume this paste thrice a day. It will surely help you get rid of cough.

हेलो,

कारण - फेफड़ों में संक्रमण के कारण कफ की शिकायत होती है। संक्रमण का कारण पाचन (assimilation) और निष्कासन (elimention) में अवरोध के कारण होता है।

Pg में रहने पर प्राकृतिक जीवन शैली को अपनाया जा सकता है। एक वक़्त केवल कोई एक तरीक़े का फल लें। एक बार सलाद लें। 

समाधान - अनुलोम विलोम, आंतरिक कुंभक और बाह्य कुंभक करें। सर्वांगआसन और सूर्य नमस्कार 5 बार करें। दुध या दुध से बना कोई चीज़ ना लें। नीम के पत्ते का और खीरा पेस्ट अपने पेट पर रखें। 20मिनट तक रख कर साफ़ कर लें।

लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें। इसके बाद फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें, रुकें, फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें। ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक समय पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें। खुली हवा में बैठें या टहलें।

जीवन शैली-  1आकाश तत्व - एक खाने से दुसरे खाने के बीच में अंतराल (gap) रखें।

फल के बाद 3 घंटे, सलाद के बाद 5 घंटे, और पके हुए खाने के बाद 12 घंटे का (gap) रखें।

2.वायु तत्व - प्राणायाम करें, आसन करें। दौड़ लगाएँ।

3.अग्नि - सूर्य की रोशनी लें।

4.जल - अलग अलग तरीक़े का स्नान करें। मेरुदंड स्नान, हिप बाथ, गीले कपड़े की पट्टी से पेट की गले और सर की 20 मिनट के लिए सेक लगाए। 

स्पर्श थरेपी करें। मालिश के ज़रिए भी कर सकते है। नारियल तेल से

घड़ी की सीधी दिशा (clockwise) में और घड़ी की उलटी दिशा (anti clockwise)में मालिश करें। नरम हाथों से बिल्कुल भी प्रेशर नहीं दें।

5.पृथ्वी - सुबह खीरा 1/2 भाग + धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। यह juice आप कई प्रकार के ले सकते हैं। पेठे (ash guard ) का जूस लें और कुछ नहीं लेना है। नारियल पानी भी ले सकते हैं। पालक  पत्ते धो कर पीस कर 100ml पानी डाल पीएँ। दुब घास 25 ग्राम पीस कर छान कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। कच्चे सब्ज़ी का जूस आपका मुख्य भोजन है। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है। फल को चबा कर खाएँ। इसका juice ना लें। फल + सूखे फल नाश्ते में लें।

दोपहर के खाने में सलाद + नट्स और अंकुरित अनाज के साथ  सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें और नारियल पीस कर मिलाएँ। कच्चा पपीता 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। कभी सीताफल ( yellow pumpkin)50 ग्राम ऐसे ही डालें। कभी सफ़ेद पेठा (ash guard) 30 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। ऐसे ही ज़ूकीनी 50 ग्राम डालें।कद्दूकस करके डालें।कभी काजू बादाम अखरोट मूँगफली भिगोए हुए पीस कर मिलाएँ। लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। लें। बिना नींबू और नमक के लें। स्वाद के लिए नारियल और herbs मिलाएँ।

रात के खाने में इस अनुपात से खाना खाएँ 2 कटोरी सब्ज़ी के साथ 1कटोरी चावल या 1रोटी लेएक बार पका हुआ खाना रात को 7 बजे से पहले लें।

6.सेंधा नमक केवल एक बार पके हुए खाने में लें। जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन वर्जित हैं।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा। चीनी के जगह गुड़ लें।

7.एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस(solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल  को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें।ठोस  भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ  ले सकते हैं।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी और रात 8 बजे सलाद लें।

8.उपवास के अगले दिन किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में टोना लें। जिससे आँत की प्रदाह को शांत किया जा सके। एनिमा किट मँगा लें। यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 200ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में दो बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में मोजुद विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये। इसके बाद हफ़्ते में केवल एक बार लेना है उपवास के अगले दिन। टोना का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब आहार शुद्धि करेंगे।

Your work suggests long work hours. It is therefore important that you make lifestyle changes that would help you achieve good health always. Short term remedies :

  • Sipping on to warm ginger, tulsi water.
  • Gargling with salt and turmeric. Turmeric works as an antiseptic.
  • Steaming
  • 1-2 tsp Onion juice with honey

Lifestyle Changes

  • Include fresh fruits and raw vegetables as a part of your daily regime. All micronutrients are provided which are essential in many biochemical activities of the body.
  • Try changing your breakfast to fruits and include more vegetables both in raw and cooked form. Fruits help the body in the elimination process since the body is constantly trying to get rid of its toxic load you could support your body by consuming fruits in the morning since the body is in elimination mode.
  • Avoid all animal foods, dairy, packed, processed, oily and sugary foods. They are empty calories. Provide no nutrition to the body. All these create a toxic load on the system and make elimination and absorption difficult.
  • Avoid caffeine and tobacco whether in tea, coffee, alcohol, smoking or even chocolates. They are all acidic for the body.
  • Try including vegetable juices, coconut water. The juices would provide hydration to cells at a cellular level. It is quite possible that you are dehydrated and hydration is important. They also help in removing toxins from your lymphatic system.
  • Physical activity is important. Movement of the body is essential to prevent aches and pains. It also releases good hormones in the body. In a relaxed state, the body is able to function better.
  • Proper rest and sleep are vital. This helps the body repair and rejuvenate. Ensure that you get proper sleep for atleast 7-8 hours daily.
  • Exposure to sunshine and nature. Sunshine provides you with Vitamin D. There might be a possibility that you are not receiving enough Vitamin D since you have a desk job and are indoors most of the time.

Internal cleanliness is the prerequisite to health. When the body gets clogged with toxins, Nature makes an extraordinary cleansing effort. Elimination becomes acute either through ordinary or extraordinary channels.

The common cold is just one such effort of the life Power; it is the simplest mode of cleansing the body of toxic matter. "Nature 'a safety valve "-(in human anatomy there can not be an opening above the nostrils) opens to rid the body of the foul matter. Once the matter is allowed to be cleared quickly, the person should feel all the better for it.
There is no question of "catching" a cold--the cold weather doesn't cause it. It is said that Eskimos-'those that inhabit the coldest region of the earth--are not susceptible to the common cold, except when they partake of the "civilized "foods supplied to them by outsiders.

DO "COLDS" CAUSE DISEASE?
There are a number of warnings galore: DO YOU GET FREQUENT COLDS? BEWARE 'COLD ' MAY BE A PRECURSOR TO MANY DANGEROUS DISEASES.
THAT "cold "may cause--or 'sponsor '--so many different types of diseases is the greatest myth. What happens is this. The person who suffers from colds invariably drugs himself:, this drugging, combined with unhygienic dietetic and other habits, increases the toxic conditions of the body. Resulting in more and more diseases."Cold" is itself a cure. An acute condition, wherein the body tries to rid itself of much of the toxic matter that has already been formed and retained inside. "Colds " by themselves, can not cause disease: drugging and unhygienic living are the sole causes of so many diseases.
The common cold, which is varyingly described as " the elusive indomitable ailment". "One of the most annoying of medical mysteries of all time". And so on, cold is merely an inflammation of the inner lining of the nose. It produces an itchy, stuffy feeling and then there is an elimination of mucus. As the watery discharge from the nose contains mucus and pus cells, the blame is put on "bacterial infection "!

BLAME NOT THE POOR VIRUS
There are many 'cold 'fallacies, the greatest of them is that the virus causes the cold. The virus, which is said to measure 1/30 000 000th part of a millimetre,is blamed as "the tiny particle that has made the whole world miserable for thousands of years, "
Virologists honestly admit that it is not possible to eliminate these viruses and conclude that the common cold IS AN INESCAPABLE CON-COMITANT OF URBAN EXISTENCE.

DRUGS HAVE NO ROLE TO PLAY
AN advisory by US FDA recommends over the counter medications to relieve cold symptoms but "there is still no cure for one of mankind's most familiar maladies.
1. The expectorant: Expectorant:-which is supposed to help bring up mucus in the bronchial airways, so we can spit it out, are not recognized as safe and effective. Then there are bronchodilators, "which enlarge the bronchial passages to make it easier for people with asthma to breathe. "Use of these will definitely affect the respiratory tone and could worsen the condition.
2. Then there are 'anticholinergic, which dry up the watery discharge in the nose and eyes, but not without health hazards
3. Next comes 'decongestants 'which opens up the nasal passages may provide temporary relief, but may worsen the condition
4. As for 'Antihistamines 'a class of drugs to "relieve "sneezing and watery and itchy eyes usually associated with allergies " they would weaken the nervous system.
5. As for the "antitussives (cough suppressants), it's a common-sense that anything which suppresses the acute effort should be a poison.

It should be clear that the above over-the-counter "cold remedies " do not treat the cold, but only allay its symptoms.
If the cold, in its early stages, is sought to be treated by medication would lead to chronic affliction known in medical circles as allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, atrophic rhinitis, polyp in the nose, deviated septum, asthma, etc.
Some years back "A leading daily from UK "pointed out editorially "There is no treatment for the common cold except the exercise of common sense ".This is the truth.

PRACTICE OF HEALTH CULTURE IS THE ONLY WAY OUT
When the law of Vital Economy is faithfully followed catarrhal accumulation can not form, and then there is no question of getting a "cold ". No one who is perfectly clean and healthy inside can "catch "or develop cold or even any other so-called infections. The real solution then lies in hygienic living. Living in tune with the law of Nature Cure.
If due to some errors of living, cold sets in, fasting--not 'stuffing 'is the only sure method to quicken the elimination. During such fasts and even afterwards, small quantities of raw vegetable juices (ash gourd, snake gourd, banana pith, cucumbers, carrots chaulai etc.)may be taken twice daily.

The practice of health culture methods, I.e.positve dieting, sunbathing, pranayama, relaxation the right way, hot foot bath, brisk walking, etc. will promote health in the individual. This is the way not only for preventing colds but for preventing all other diseases.

Cough is a symptom that is also known as tussis. This is a voluntary or involuntary act that clears the throat and breathing passage of foreign particles, microbes, irritants, fluids, and mucus. It is a rapid expulsion of air from the lungs. Coughing can be done deliberately or as part of a reflex or even as a part of some diagnostic tests.

Some of the common symptoms that associate with cough are runny or stuffy nose, a feeling of liquid running down the back of your throat (postnasal drip), frequent throat clearing and sore throat, hoarseness, wheezing and shortness of breath, heartburn or a sour taste in your mouth.

Some simple remedies to relieve cough are:

  1. Honey - Honey has proven effects of relieving cough. Various research studies have shown this fact.
  2. Ginger - Ginger has shown beneficial effects. Ginger may be useful to ease a dry or asthmatic cough, as it has anti-inflammatory properties. It may also relieve nausea and pain. Chewing dried ginger cough give instant relief over the bout of cough and very helpful in reducing the frequency.
  3. Staying hydrated is vital for those with a cough or cold. Research study have indicated that drinking liquids at room temperature can alleviate cough, runny nose, and sneezing.
  4. Steam -A wet cough, which is one of that produces mucus or phlegm, may improve with steam. Take a hot shower or bath and allow the bathroom to fill with steam. Even a steam inhalation could give you a great relief.
  5. Saltwater Gargling - This simple remedy is one of the most effective for treating a sore throat and wet cough. Salt water reduces phlegm and mucus in the back of the throat which can lessen the need to cough.
  6. Consumption of the anti-inflammatory diet is very important. Avoid all diet that increase mucous or increase cough. Avoid junk foods, dairy products, oily diet, white rice at night, maida, refined sugars, sugared drinks or cold food items. Other foods like all fruits and vegetables may be consumed. Pineapple could be consumed as bromelain enzyme in pineapple have a better therapeutic effect on cough.
