Hello Pritam,

It is a very good thing that you want to take initiatives for your health. We can help you by guiding towards a healthy and helpful diet. The best detox any doctor would advise you is Water. So it is time you start your day with drinking two glasses of water which will help you in flushing out the toxins which have been helping you out.

The second part is including lots of raw vegetables in your diet. Consuming a plate of raw vegetables before your meal will help you in detoxifying and even control your appetite. During dinner which ideally should be before 7 pm you can have tomatoes with black pepper this will help you a lot in dealing with acidity.

Dear health seeker Pritam,

Your health issue of acidity is radically curable. Follow as under:- 


1. Never eat when hunger has not matured. You must learn as to how hunger is born and as to how you can recognise it.
2. Never eat in haste, we work, we earn and do so many things to enjoy our meal. If it is eaten in haste, how can one enjoy the food?
3. When one eats in haste, one cannot masticate the food well. Remember the rule that solids should be drunk and that liquids should be eaten. Remember that there are no teeth inside the stomach to grind it again.
4. Do not have too many courses of food in a single meal. When taste changes, satiation will not appear even if the stomach has become full.
5. Squat in the Indian style for eating. The flexure at the level of the abdomen caused by so squatting helps to limit the quantity of eating. Bend well forward until the mouthful of food put in is chewed and turned almost into a liquid and then drink it.
6. Do not talk while you eat. The Vedic Mantra teaches us that we should eat silently.
7. Do not take too much of chillies. Avoid dry red chillies. Green chillies can be used whole removing even the stalk along with vegetables while boiling and removed after cooking.
8. Minimize the intake of salt. The more the salt, the more is the unnatural thirst and the artificial need for drinking water during and after the meal. This will dilute the digestive juices and digestion will be upset.
9. Dehusked daals have lost the best part of the whole grain. The remaining part is a very good gas-producing material and there is no wonder that if you take plenty of daals you do suffer from flatulence. If you prefer to have daal in your food, have it in the germinated form. That will help to avoid constipation.
10. Avoid eating if you have no time to rest after the meal. Remember that work and digestion do not go on hand in hand. No one will go weak or get diseased by avoiding eating until he has the right time to eat. Shake off that fear.
11. Never take a breakfast. Breakfast is unIndian [Read Eating For Health by L. Ganesa Sarma]. Hunger cannot have matured in the morning, it could only have been born.
12. A high protein meal must be justified by a sufficient amount of manual labour. Sedentary worker needs more of bulky foods.
13. Avoidance of all enervating, devitalising foodless foods like tea, coffee, alcoholic beverages, animal products eggs meat, is not only mandatory but a must.

Acidity is the most common problem nowadays. The changes in lifestyle and eating habits are mainly responsible for this problem.

Causes for acidity 

  • Deep-fried and oily foods.
  • Having meals at the wrong times and in the wrong quantity. 
  • Eating animal foods.
  • Consuming dairy products. 
  • Eating packaged and processed foods. 
  • Having a spicy diet.
  • Not taking sufficient fluids. 

Management of acidity 


  • Include natural plant-based foods in your diet. 
  • Drink sufficient water during the day. 
  • Have fresh fruit juices and coconut water. 
  • Include salads, sprouts, fresh fruits, and green leafy vegetables in your meals.
  • Have whole grains like barley, millets, oats. 
  • Include nuts, beans, cucumber in your diet.
  • Always consume freshly prepared foods. 
  • Use coconut oil for cooking instead of using refined oils.
  • Say no to coffee and tea.
  • Avoid maida.


Having good quality sleep for sufficient no. of hours is very important.

Go to bed early at night, especially before 11 pm.

Get up early in the morning at around 6.

Take a good quality sleep for at least 8 hours daily.

Physical activity 

Sometimes not doing any physical activity during the day also leads to acidity. 

  • Start your day with some physical activity like walking or jogging. 
  • Perform yoga regularly. 
  • You can do bhujanga asana,gomukha asana,kapalbhati, trikona asana, paschimottan asana. 
  • Take 15min walk after your meals.


Give yourself some time to meditate also. Meditation helps in treating almost every disease. 

Meditate for at least 20-25 min daily in the morning.


Stress also leads to indigestion and hence acidity. So, try to avoid stressful situations and be stress-free.


  • Never skip meals.
  • Maintain proper hygiene. 
  • Have your meals at fixed times.
  • Avoid late-night eating.

Acidity can be caused due to excessive secretions of gastric juices from glands which can be due to wrong eating habits, wrong sleeping habits and unhealthy lifestyle.

  • I highly suggest to start drinking early morning water at least 2-3 glasses as soon as you get up and after that continue your day to day activities.
  • Avoid spicy, junk and processed foods.
  • I highly recommend you to add banana in your diet before half an hour of your food to help you combat acidity.
  • Try to take one glass of water before 1 hour of your meals.
  • Consume ajwain tea twice daily on a regular basis by replacing your normal tea.
  • Try to consume a small portion of salads before your meals.

Walking on heels for at least 5- 10 min daily after meals helps in improving your digestive system as our heels have the best reflexology points.

कारण - शरीर में अम्ल की अधिकता दोषपूर्ण खानपान दोष पूर्ण जीवन शैली के कारण होता है।शरीर की आंतरिक सफ़ाई बहुत ज़रूरी है।

क्योंकि स्वास्थ में गिरावट इसी कारण से होती है।

समय समय पर सफ़ाई करना तो अच्छा है पर रोज़ की  सफ़ाई रहे ऐसी जीवन शैली को अपना लें।

लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें। इसके बाद फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें, रुकें, फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें। ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक समय पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें। खुली हवा में बैठें या टहलें।

शारीरिक और मानसिक क्रिया में संतुलन बनाए। दौड़ लगाएँ।

जीवन शैली-  1आकाश तत्व - एक खाने से दुसरे खाने के बीच में अंतराल (gap) रखें।

फल के बाद 3 घंटे, सलाद के बाद 5 घंटे, और पके हुए खाने के बाद 12 घंटे का (gap) रखें।

2.वायु तत्व - प्राणायाम करें, आसन करें। दौड़ लगाएँ।

3.अग्नि - सूर्य की रोशनी लें।

4.जल - अलग अलग तरीक़े का स्नान करें। मेरुदंड स्नान, हिप बाथ, गीले कपड़े की पट्टी से पेट की गले और सर की 20 मिनट के लिए सेक लगाए। 

स्पर्श थरेपी करें। मालिश के ज़रिए भी कर सकते है। नारियल तेल से

घड़ी की सीधी दिशा (clockwise) में और घड़ी की उलटी दिशा (anti clockwise)में मालिश करें। नरम हाथों से बिल्कुल भी प्रेशर नहीं दें।

5.पृथ्वी - सुबह खीरा 1/2 भाग + धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। यह juice आप कई प्रकार के ले सकते हैं। पेठे (ashguard ) का जूस लें और कुछ नहीं लेना है। नारियल पानी भी ले सकते हैं। पालक  पत्ते धो कर पीस कर 100ml पानी डाल पीएँ। दुब घास 25 ग्राम पीस कर छान कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। कच्चे सब्ज़ी का जूस आपका मुख्य भोजन है। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है। 

फल को चबा कर खाएँ। इसका juice ना लें। फल + सूखे फल नाश्ते में लें।

दोपहर के खाने में सलाद + नट्स और अंकुरित अनाज के साथ  सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें और नारियल पीस कर मिलाएँ। कच्चा पपीता 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। कभी सीताफल ( yellow pumpkin)50 ग्राम ऐसे ही डालें। कभी सफ़ेद पेठा (ashgurd) 30 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। ऐसे ही ज़ूकीनी 50 ग्राम डालें।कद्दूकस करके डालें।कभी काजू बादाम अखरोट मूँगफली भिगोए हुए पीस कर मिलाएँ। 

लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। लें। बिना नींबू और नमक के लें। स्वाद के लिए नारियल और herbs मिलाएँ।

रात के खाने में इस अनुपात से खाना खाएँ 2 कटोरी सब्ज़ी के साथ 1कटोरी चावल या 1रोटी लेएक बार पका हुआ खाना रात को 7 बजे से पहले लें।

6.सेंधा नमक केवल एक बार पके हुए खाने में लें। जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन वर्जित हैं।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा। चीनी के जगह गुड़ लें।

7.एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस(solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल  को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें।ठोस  भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ  ले सकते हैं।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी और रात 8 बजे सलाद लें।

8.उपवास के अगले दिन किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में टोना लें। जिससे आँत की प्रदाह को शांत किया जा सके। एनिमा किट मँगा लें। यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 200ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में दो बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में मोजुद विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये। इसके बाद हफ़्ते में केवल एक बार लेना है उपवास के अगले दिन। टोना का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब आहार शुद्धि करेंगे।

Acidity is one of the commonest ailments one could suffer. Some of the commonest causes might be due to wrong dietary habits and timings or obesity, improper lifestyle habits, overeating, less time between dinner and sleep, etc might be the possible reasons

Acid reflux occurs when the acid is being pushed into the oesophagus or food pipe. In initial stages, it might not harm but if it becomes common it might cause a burning sensation in your food pipe, commonly known as heartburn. Sometimes this symptom could cause difficulty in swallowing food.

Some natural ways to manage it,

  • Don't Overeat- Avoid overeating. In Naturopathic philosophy we say that eat half stomach with solid food, a quarter with water/liquids and quarter should be kept empty. Also, make a point to avoid heavy meals and too many oily foods or spices ( north Indian curries especially)
  • Lose weight- Sometimes fat accumulation on the abdomen could push the intestines or abdominal structures downwards and could possibly cause a condition called hiatus hernia. Hence losing weight must be a very important measure to undertaken if you are overweight.
  • Consume low carbs- Consumption of a large number of carbs could result in poor digestion in the GUT. It always wise to consume in less quantity.
  • Avoid coffee/alcohol/carbonated drinks. Avoiding these could help too
  • Eat less of chocolates and drink less citrus fruit juices
  • Avoid eating raw onions if at all you have a habit
  • Give at least three hours of time gap between your dinner and sleep.
  • Keep your head in an elevated position when you sleep.

Detoxification Methods in Naturopathy

Naturopathy stresses on the use of the body’s own immune system in curing various types of disorders from the root and not merely suppressing the symptoms as standard medications strive to do.
