I am suffering from unwanted thoughts. Can anyone suggest me remedies for a calm mindset?

Hello Sanju,

I can understand that there are some times when our mind gets clogged up with unwanted thoughts which disturbs our mind and body. So here are a few things which you need to start doing in order to understand the body and health.

The best part is to start with having a new hobby which will keep you occupied, whenever we learn something new, our body's mechanism changes and the cells regenerate. The next thing is spending more time with nature, connect to nature and walk barefoot as it helps in calming nerves.

Have more diet rich in fruits and vegetables which will treat both the body and mind. Use of essential oils like rosemary and basil which helps in treating us mentally. Hopefully, these suggestions will help.

कारण - मानसिक स्वास्थ्य विकार जैसे चिंता, नकारात्मक सोंच, डिप्रेशन, शरीर में अम्ल की अधिकता, मादक द्रव्यों का सेवन से ऐसा हो सकता है। प्राकृतिक जीवन शैली को अपनाकर पूर्ण स्वास्थ प्राप्त किया जा सकता है।

समाधान - भ्रामरी प्राणायाम,ताड़ासन, नटराजासन

वृक्षासन,हस्तपादासन, सर्वांगासन, हलासन, पवन-मुक्तासन, अनुलोम-विलोम प्राणायाम करें।

प्रतिदिन आप ख़ुद को प्यार दें अपने बारे में 10 अच्छी बातें कोरे काग़ज़ पर लिख कर और प्रकृति को अपने होने का धन्यवाद दें।

मानसिक समस्या भी इसी शरीर की समस्या है सब कुछ इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि हम किसी भी परिस्थिति में सकारात्मक सोंच रखते हैं या नकारात्मक।

प्राकृतिक जुड़ाव आपको सकारात्मक सोंच प्रदान करेंगी क्योंकि प्राकृतिक जीवन शैली अपने आप में पूर्ण भी है और जीवंत भी है। पाँच तत्व से प्रकृति चल रही है और उसी पाँच तत्व से हमारा शरीर चल रहा है।

जीवन शैली - 1 आकाश तत्व- एक खाने से दूसरे खाने के बीच में विराम दें। रोज़ाना 15 घंटे का उपवास करें जैसे रात का भोजन 7 बजे तक कर लिया और सुबह का नाश्ता 9 बजे लें। वाद्य यंत्र शास्त्री संगीत (instrumental classical music)सुनें।

2 वायु तत्व- लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें रुकें फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक टाइम पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें।

अपने कमरे में ख़ुशबू दार फूलों को रखें।

3 अग्Iनि तत्व- सूर्य उदय के एक घंटे बाद या सूर्य अस्त के एक घंटे पहले का धूप शरीर को ज़रूर लगाएँ। सर और आँख को किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक कर। जब भी लेंटे अपना दायाँ भाग ऊपर करके लेटें ताकि आपकी सूर्य नाड़ी सक्रिय रहे।

4 जल तत्व- नहाने के पानी में ख़ुशबू वाले फूलों का रस मिलाएँ। नींबू या पुदीना का रस मिला सकते हैं।खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें या खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा कर सकते हैं।

मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें। मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें। 

सर पर सूती कपड़ा बाँध कर उसके ऊपर खीरा और मेहंदी या करी पत्ते का पेस्ट लगाएँ,नाभि पर खीरा का पेस्ट लगाएँ।पैरों को 20 मिनट के लिए सादे पानी से भरे किसी बाल्टी या टब में डूबो कर रखें।

5 पृथ्वी- सब्ज़ी, सलाद, फल, मेवे, आपका मुख्य आहार होगा। आप सुबह खीरे का जूस लें, खीरा 1/2 भाग +धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है।

दोपहर में 12 बजे फिर से इसी जूस को लें। इसके एक घंटे बाद खाना खाएँ। शाम को नारियल पानी लें फिर 2 घंटे तक कुछ ना लें। रात के सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें, नारियल की गिरि मिलाएँ।

लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ।इसे बिना नमक के खाएँ, बहुत फ़ायदा होगा।सेंधा नमक केवल एक बार पके हुए खाने में लें। जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन वर्जित हैं।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा। चीनी के जगह गुड़ लें।

एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस(solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल  को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें।ठोस  भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ  ले सकते हैं।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी और रात 8 बजे सलाद लें।

उपवास के अगले दिन किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में टोना लें। जिससे आँत की प्रदाह को शांत किया जा सके। एनिमा किट मँगा लें। यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 200ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में दो बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में मोजुद विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये। इसके बाद हफ़्ते में केवल एक बार लेना है उपवास के अगले दिन। टोना का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब आहार शुद्धि करेंगे।

Our minds are constantly working and thinking. We all are constantly receiving both positive and negative messages. It is important to focus on positive messages and leave the negative. How to do this? Read and listen to more positive talks and messages. Keep yourself involved in the service of others. Various scientific researches have shown that both the mind and the body are connected. If you consume a healthy diet, sleep well, exercise and meditate, it helps to calm down the mind.

The mind and body are connected by many nerves and veins, the most important being the Vagus Nerve. This connects the brain and spinal cord. This controls all the actions which are not under our control, like digestion, anxiety, panic attacks, blood pressure, etc. When the body is experiencing stressful situations the vagus nerve is unable to send a response to the brain to relax. Therefore, if the body is under stress, (which might be because of improper eating habits, since the body has to remove more toxins to maintain a balance) and due to this there are negative emotions, decreased immunity and poor digestion. But, when we are in a relaxed state the body gets the signal to repair and heal and maintain a balance. Anything like even lack of sleep, insufficient exercise or wrong eating habits can disturb this balance. This, in turn, affects the way you manage and perceive situations and manage emotions. Meditation is proven to help control thoughts. Also, it is recommended to make lifestyle changes.

Certain lifestyle changes would help assist you:

  • This includes the removal of all animal products including dairy, removal of packed and processed, oily and sugary foods. This creates an overload of toxins and disturbs the balance of the body.
  • Include lots of raw vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. They all contain essential vitamins and minerals for the normal functioning of the body.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, chocolates, sugary foods. They all cause spikes in the blood sugar level and also create an acidic environment for the body. These foods might give you some kind of false satisfaction of feeling good, but you would later find mood changes due to sudden changes in the blood sugar levels.
  • Exposure to sunshine and proper rest and sleep are also of prime importance. They release happy hormones, and in a relaxed state, the body can repair and heal.
  • Manage stress either by some physical activity or deep breathing. This calms the body down. This helps the body to repair and heal.
  • Adequate sleep. The body repairs and heals during sleep.
  • Positive thinking helps to create positive vibes around you and automatically you would get rid of negative thoughts and anxiety.
  • Read books or listen to positive talks. Also, keep yourself occupied with your hobbies.

If you sit silently, whether people are having only positive thoughts or negative thoughts, the mind is always busy with thoughts. It's natural. However, positivity increases in life when you give positivity from your side. Secondly, having a clean body automatically gives positive thoughts. The rawer your food is, your lifestyle is more natural, the thoughts automatically become satvik. When I work with people who battle a lot of emotional issues and also physical issues, they eventually become very positive and spiritual. Listen to BK Shivani's talks. It will help you understand the repercussions of bad thoughts. True regenerative detoxification is much more than just a physical detox, it’s a spiritual experience in true sense. Negative thoughts induce acidity in the body and start the cycle of physical diseases. Get outside and play in nature, practice positive affirmations and manifestation, practice yoga and listen and watch things that only boost your energy with positivity because you don’t want to download negative energy in your subconscious that can create a repetitive negative thought patterns, which in turn will create acidity in the body and chronic inflammation.

To summarize, focus on removing bad and acid causing foods like dairy, meat, eggs, fish, refined oils, sugar, bread, gluten, junk foods, fried, etc.

Focus on having mostly raw fruits and vegetables until dinner. Include 3 liters of liquids per day.

Unwanted thoughts and restless mind all point out to be that you might be suffering from anxiety and negative thoughts. Anxiety is a physiological problem that is caused by the chaotic world. Anxiety prepares a person to be aware of danger ahead and be prepared to face it. At times when we fail to check it at the right time, it might harm to the quality of life, mainly the mental wellness and thereby affecting the physical wellness leading to various ailments. Anxiety and negative often be conjoined with each other in a person suffering from either of them. They fall hand in hand with each other and the impact would be immense

Some natural ways to get rid of it: 

  1. Stay active and cultivate a habit of regularly exercising, which is good for your physical and emotional health. 
  2. Don't drink alcohol. Alcohol is considered to be a natural sedative and avoiding its best policy
  3. Stop smoking and social drugs. Consumption of these could increase anxiety-related ailments
  4. Stop consumption of tea or caffeine.
  5. Get some sleep. Some improper sleep patterns could increase the problem. It is very essential for a normal individual to have at least 7- 8 hours of sound sleep
  6. Yoga and meditations could be beneficial. There are some specialized practices that could be practised under the guidance of well-trained yoga teacher.
  7. Eat a healthy diet. Consumption of less oil, eliminate white food items ( white sugar, maida, salt) sugared drinks, junk foods, and spicy foods.
  8. Practice deep breathing along with pranayama could reduce anxiety to a great level.
  9. Also if possible talk to friends or take help from a psychologist or psychiatrist who could guide in a proper way.

Here are some of the additional tips to overcome negative thoughts,

  • Sit in a quiet place and listen to mind soothing music
  • Read books of your choice.
  • If you have a flair towards art, painting or any other hobbies like photography, travel, etc could be a great choice as well.
  • Keep your living area well ventilated and let the sun come in if you have a choice for that.
  • Have good sleep and keep yourself relaxed.
  • Keeping your living area clean and tidy also works wonders.
  • Keep friends for socializing and this could help a lot.
  • Light some scented candles and breathe deeply and meditate if possible.
  • Gardening, cooking, pets, etc are stress buster activities that could also play a vital role in the removal of negative vibes.

It may be an Anxiety Disorder. It is a psychological condition in which the person suffers from social anxiety, feel excessively self-conscious and is worried about unrealistic problems. 

Change your diet and lifestyle below:

  • Breathing exercises: Mind has a very close relation to breathing. A person has short and shallow breathing when anxious or stressed and has deep breathing when relaxed and happy. Next time you become stressed, watch your breathing. Try to slow it down. Take a relaxed position and breathe deep using the abdomen muscles. Let the diaphragm expand while breathing in, and contract while breathing out. This will immediately relax you and reduce anxiety attacks. Exercise, meditation, relaxation techniques and yoga postures are also recommended.
  • Fresh fruits, fruit juices, vegetables (raw or cooked or boiled), vegetable juices, sprouts, nuts, dry fruits are the best to increase and enrich the mind. 
  • Cut down, or if possible stop, the use of black tea, coffee, white flour products, chocolates, white sugar products, deep-fried foods, hot spices, meat, fish, and eggs. Such restrictions benefit in anxiety disorders.
  • Spend more time with nature and choose a place like a garden and walk for a while.
