My hair are changing into grey day by day and I am still 16 yrs old. Can you pls help me?

The cause of your greying of hair might be due to various factors, namely environmental, wrong lifestyle habits or maybe even family history. A detailed examination and case-taking could reveal the exact cause.

Early or premature of greying of hair or hair loss or thinning of hair, all occur due to many reasons, not only diet and nutritional deficiency. The major causative factors are wrong lifestyle habits, stress and some environmental factors too. Hair problems occur due to hormonal changes especially androgen, due to stress, anxiety, thyroid issues, ringworm infection, etc cause greying of hair, hair loss & hair thinning.

To prevent hair problems follow a well-planned diet regimen and proper lifestyle changes.

  • To get healthy and thicker hair please follow a healthy diet pattern. Consisting of fruits and vegetables.
  • Including nuts and dry fruits into your diet.
  • Always keep hair hydrated avoid too much dryness or too much moisture.
  • Use coconut oil, sesame oil or castor oil to keep hydrated.
  • Avoid tea and coffee or sugared drinks. Consume green tea, antioxidants in green tea helps in hair growth.
  • Avoid stress and practice regular Asanas, Pranayam, and meditation.Asanas especially inverted Asanas like Sarvangasana, sirasasana Padha hastasana etc.
  • Head massage using coconut oil/sesame oil /mustard oil/badam oil also helps to get thick hair.
  • Avoid fast food, maida, and fried items.
  • Avoid using shampoos and conditioners.

Additionally, you may follow these steps as mentioned below:

Take 100 ml of coconut oil and 100 ml of gingelly oil and heat it for at least 30-45 minutes. Take dried Mehendi leaves, dried rose petals, dried lemon leaves, curry leaves and dried multi petal hibiscus flower. Make a powder of these ingredients and mix it with the heating oil, heat it for 15 more minutes and allow the oil to cool. Preserve the oil in a container.

Directions for use:

Apply oil to your hair and then massage your head completely in the process of application.

Then try to have 30 minutes of sunbath and later you may go for a bath

Avoid using many shampoos based out of artificial ingredients, preferably use shikkakai powder or plant-based shampoos products. Khadi products could be of great choice as well.

Try to relax, have enough sleep and also avoid junk foods and sugared drinks.

You might get notable changes from 4th-5th months onwards.

Dear health seeker Sweety, 
The cause of premature greying can be told as 'lack of pigmentation". That is just a symptomatic diagnosis and not one that touches the root cause of the troubles. We must track that is responsible for the absence of pigmentation.
Among the many reasons that one could attribute is "worrying", but I know many young boys who worry the least and yet have grey hair.
Lack of sunlight is said to be the cause of lack of pigmentation. But we do observe that in many people those portions of the body exposed to sunlight, the hair had become grey and the hair in the covered portions remains black having thus observed, we may say that greying in cases is a protection provided by nature; the white hair reflects heat away and doesn't permit it to reach the scalp so much as the black hair that absorbs heat. One could remember that there has been a habit of providing a white cover to umbrellas having a black cloth. The white cloth reflects away much of the heat and the black cloth takes the rest of it and thus provides a good cool shade.
In my experience, I have come across cases of premature greying turned black by the use of the juice of Indian gooseberry (aamalakam,aamla) or of the flowers and leaves shoe flower or hibiscus or jabakusum.
Both hibiscus and aamala when made into a paste and leftover the hair turn them black perhaps due to the iron content in them or of some minerals content
An oil containing aamala, hibiscus curry leaves, hinna (mehndi) bhringraj, in coconut oil be prepared, and applied will turn hair black again.
Use of shampoos and soaps for cleaning the hair is a bad habit and certainly responsible for falling off the hair. The use of these should be totally avoided instead use some herbal powders. Like Sheekakai, besan, reetha and gooseberry, etc.
Hair health can not be viewed in isolation other than the overall health of the body for which consume lots of fruits and vegetables raw and cooked. Avoiding denatured, foodless foods, chillies spices and condiments and processed foods.

Hair gets grey due to deficiency of nutrients, genetic, using chemicals, more exposure to the sun, etc. 

  • To prevent greying of hair take fruits and vegetables rich in viamin A, D, E, K, and B12. They help to get healthy hair. 
  • Take minerals like selenium, iron, zinc, and copper they play a vital role in hair growth and repair or hair follicles. They are present in berries,  asparagus,  green leafy vegetables, spinach, dates, drum stick leaves, curry leaves, etc. 
  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Avoid bleaching, harsh soaps, and shampoos. Instead use natural hair cleansers like Reetha, shikakhai or use mild shampoos.
  • Apply coconut oil or sesame oil regularly and massage, it is beneficial in preventing greying of hair.   
  • Massage using amla hair oil helps to maintain black hair. 
  • Take 1-2 tsp of black sesame seeds weekly thrice or on alternative days. It can reverse the hair greying.
  • Applying onion juice is also very beneficial.  Allium a component in onion helps hair to grow and prevents greying of hair. 
  • Mix equal amount of Amla juice, lemon juice and almond oil.  Apply the mixture in hair and scalp and massage.  Do daily till the greying stops.
  • Take few hibiscus flowers, take a handful of henna leaves, a handful of curry leaves add it in coconut oil or sesame oil. Boil it for few minutes and keep aside to cool.  Use this oil regularly to prevent or treat the greying of hair.

Premature greying is also related to premature aging. When cells in the body see a need to grow faster, they need more oxygen than usual for their growth, they grow faster. 

The main reason for such things can sometimes be the abnormal increase of hormones in the body. Hormones come from animal products majorly. Stop that and after some time you will see hair fall of all the bad hair and new growth will start happening. What has become grey may not be reversed, but the further greying can be controlled by a good lifestyle majorly with fruits. Fruits ensure longevity and health both. Raw vegetables also do it, but fruits do that job of cleanup better. Another reason is to keep the body off of all forms of chemicals - may it be soaps, shampoos or adulterated oils. Body also can not tolerate hot water as it spends energy in cooling it. It’s best to take a head bath with body temperature water. Don’t expose the hair to breeze that will disturb the roots when we go out in an open vehicle like a scooter. 

Hygiene factors like this help the hair. 

  • Avoid refined oils, fried food, packaged ready to eat foods, dairy in any form including ghee, refined salt, and sugar, gluten, refined oils, meat, eggs, fish, coffee, tea, alcohol, oils in any form.

  • Avoid mental stress by not thinking about things you cannot control. The present is inevitable. The future can be planned. Stay happy happiness is only inside yourself. हेलो स्वीटी जी,

कारण - बालों का असमय सफेद होना यह बताताा है की सिर में ऑक्सीजन का पर्याप्त्त संचार नहीं हो पा रहा है। शरीर में अम्ल की अधिकता के कारण शरीर में पोषक तत्वों की कमी है। बालों का स्वास्थ्य पाचन तंत्र के स्वास्थ्य  निर्भर पर  करता है। जीवन शैली में बदलाव करें। तनाव और अनिद्रा को दूर करने के लिए आसन प्राणायाम करें। 

समाधान - सुप्त मत्स्येन्द्रासन, धनुरासन, अनुलोम विलोम, पवन मुक्तआसन करें। पश्चिमोत्तानासन, अर्धमत्स्येन्द्रासन, शवासन करें।

सर पर सूती कपड़ा बाँध कर उसके ऊपर खीरा और मेहंदी या करी पत्ते का पेस्ट लगाएँ,नाभि पर खीरा का पेस्ट लगाएँ।पैरों को 20 मिनट के लिए सादे पानी से भरे किसी बाल्टी या टब में डूबो कर रखें।

खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें या खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा कर सकते हैं।

नीम के पत्ते का पेस्ट अपने नाभि पर रखें। 20मिनट तक रख कर साफ़ कर लें। मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें।

मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें। 

जीवन शैली - जीवन शैली-  1आकाश तत्व - एक खाने से दुसरे खाने के बीच में अंतराल (gap) रखें।

फल के बाद 3 घंटे, सलाद के बाद 5 घंटे, और पके हुए खाने के बाद 12 घंटे का (gap) रखें।

2.वायु तत्व - प्राणायाम करें, आसन करें। दौड़ लगाएँ।

3.अग्नि - सूर्य की रोशनी लें।

4.जल - अलग अलग तरीक़े का स्नान करें। मेरुदंड स्नान, हिप बाथ, गीले कपड़े की पट्टी से पेट की गले और सर की 20 मिनट के लिए सेक लगाए। 

स्पर्श थरेपी करें। मालिश के ज़रिए भी कर सकते है। नारियल तेल से

घड़ी की सीधी दिशा (clockwise) में और घड़ी की उलटी दिशा (anti clockwise)में मालिश करें। नरम हाथों से बिल्कुल भी प्रेशर नहीं दें।

5.पृथ्वी - सुबह खीरा 1/2 भाग धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। यह juice आप कई प्रकार के ले सकते हैं। पेठे (ash guard ) का जूस लें और कुछ नहीं लेना है। नारियल पानी भी ले सकते हैं। पालक  पत्ते धो कर पीस कर 100ml पानी डाल पीएँ। दुब घास 25 ग्राम पीस कर छान कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। कच्चे सब्ज़ी का जूस आपका मुख्य भोजन है। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है। 

फल को चबा कर खाएँ। इसका juice ना लें। फल सूखे फल नाश्ते में लें।

दोपहर के खाने में सलाद नट्स और अंकुरित अनाज के साथ  सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें और नारियल पीस कर मिलाएँ। कच्चा पपीता 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। कभी सीताफल ( yellow pumpkin)50 ग्राम ऐसे ही डालें। कभी सफ़ेद पेठा (ash guard) 30 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। ऐसे ही ज़ूकीनी 50 ग्राम डालें।कद्दूकस करके डालें।कभी काजू बादाम अखरोट मूँगफली भिगोए हुए पीस कर मिलाएँ। लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। लें। बिना नींबू और नमक के लें। स्वाद के लिए नारियल और herbs मिलाएँ।

रात के खाने में इस अनुपात से खाना खाएँ 2 कटोरी सब्ज़ी के साथ 1कटोरी चावल या 1रोटी लेएक बार पका हुआ खाना रात को 7 बजे से पहले लें।

6.सेंधा नमक केवल एक बार पके हुए खाने में लें। जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन वर्जित हैं।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा। चीनी के जगह गुड़ लें।

7.एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस(solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल  को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें।ठोस  भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ ले सकते हैं।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी और रात 8 बजे सलाद लें।

8.उपवास के अगले दिन किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में टोना लें। जिससे आँत की प्रदाह को शांत किया जा सके। एनिमा किट मँगा लें। यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 200ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में दो बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में मोजुद विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये। इसके बाद हफ़्ते में केवल एक बार लेना है उपवास के अगले दिन। टोना का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब आहार शुद्धि करेंगे।
