Dark spots on the skin, or hyperpigmentation, occur when some areas of the skin produce more melanin than usual. There might be varied reasons. Melanin is a pigment that gives the eyes, skin, and hair their colour. Dark spots on the skin are not a cause for concern and do not need treatment, though people may choose to remove them for cosmetic reasons.

Natural therapies could have a better line of management using some simple methodologies

  • To avoid black spots in the face trying to keep the face always clean and dry.
  • Avoid using chemical-based lotions or face washes on the face.
  • Grate potato and extract juice, apply the juice on underarms. Leave it for 10-15 minutes then wash. It will help to reduce dark spots.
  • Slice cucumber or lemon rub it on the face,on black spots. After 10-15 mins rinse it. Do it daily until black spots vanish.
  • Take 2 tsp of turmeric, mix it with fresh lemon juice and apply on the dark spots. Keep it for 20-30 mins then rinse, use daily or alternate days.
  • Massage using fresh aloe vera gel or coconut oil also effective in removing black spots.
  • Avoid using strong deodorants and antiperspirants.
  • Scrub using oatmeal.
