This is Gaurav. I'm facing problem regarding cough and cold. Whenever I do some hard work and get tired I automatically get sore throat, sneezing and cough. I am facing this problem for 3-4 years. Consulted many doctors but they give medicines that go for a fortnight and again it persists. What should I do?

Hello Gaurav,

The recurrency in cold and cough can be difficult in handling as we tend to get our daily routine disturbed, a change in lifestyle and diet can be helpful in treating a chronic problem. Here let us talk about what is the change we have to keep in with diet and lifestyle and how do we correct it.

Cold, cough and sore throat are co-related with each other, where the body's immunity is generally hampered and with this, we have to keep our body-safe. The body's immunity is vulnerable because of the fact that the body is continuously getting exposed to toxic things in the environment and our diet which need to be protected from. Herewith a change of lifestyle, we are not only treating the accumulated toxins at an episode level but also preventing the future in relapses. Now let us follow these four things, in order to deal with the body's immunity.

Eat:

Here are a few things which we need to take care of is:

Avoiding, milk and milk products refine sugars and salt, anything which is packed needs to be avoided.

Now, what to eat? Start your day with a vegetable juice, green leafy vegetables, carrot, cucumber, bottle gourd can be your choices. Sprouts is another thing which can be given as breakfast. After lunch two hours later you can take a cup of ginger honey tea. This can be helpful for you.

Also, sprouts have a good amount of Vitamin C which will help in treating the immunity, sweet potatoes are another good source of vitamin C. Inducing legumes in the diet is also another good way of treating these symptoms.

Mulethi again is a rich ancient herb to treat cold and cough, so you can start with having one teaspoon mulethi with one teaspoon of honey, make a paste and have it. You can consume thrice a day keeping an hour gap from your regular meals.

Inhalation of essential oil of eucalyptus will also aid, put some drops on your handkerchief and inhale it throughout the episode.

A Tulsi leaf has given with a glass of warm water, empty stomach in the morning will help in removing the toxins and accelerate healing.

Exercise:

Now let us understand the exercise part:

  • Deep breathing exercise like pranayama will be helpful in the treatment of the problem.
  • Doing cat and cow pose from our yoga books helps in improving lung capacity and clear the respiratory tract from toxins.
  • Go out for an early morning walk in the sun, which will help you in taking in fresh air and sun will activate the cells.

Meditation:

This is the right time to start with meditation. Sit crossed leg on the floor and repeat, " I am healthy and happy" for 10 times, slowly with each breath. With this imagine yourself to be healthy and breath freely. This exercise of visualization will surely help, in a long way.

Sleep:

Sleep is the most important part, the importance of early to bed and early to rise makes a lot of difference in health. Stop the use of gadget an hour before sleep. 7-8 hours of sleep is a must to improve health.

Don't worry Gaurav. I have been through this issue and I was not as lucky as you to see a wonderful forum like this to seek help. I randomly looked for solutions and tried everything until it reached to a life-threatening state. But, I am here to help you with the solution. Take a deep breath because your search ends here today. All that you need to do is change your old lifestyle that caused your problems and embrace a new cleaner one.

Cold and cough are also methods of elimination from the body. It’s the body’s natural response to handle inflammation that was triggered in response to toxemia/acidity. There are many factors that can lead to breathing issues. It could be stress-based, it could be based on what you inhale that will inflame the bronchial passage, it could be due to nerve inflammations due to a bad lifestyle, It could also be due to viral activity. Inhalers can help ease symptoms temporarily, but if you are suffering from chronic asthma and use your inhaler a lot, you may become immune to the steroids at some point.

See many of these irritants can get accumulated in the lungs and can cling to your bronchial walls and go up and down as you breathe irritating the bronchial tubes. This overtime causes inflammation of the lungs. Mucus is one of the body's protective mechanisms to trap viruses and other irritants that are entering the body. However, in places where the mucus must not be present if you start accumulating, it can be very hard for the internal organs like the lungs to breathe. We eliminate healthy mucus when we have a cold and cough this is because that is the body's natural response to eliminating the virus and other accumulations in the body. However, mucus starts getting excessively produced in the internal organs such as the gut, the intestinal walls the lungs where it is unnecessary, If you eat foods that produce excess mucus. Excess mucus putrifies and hardens overtime and refuses to leave the body in all the attempts that the body makes. Such is the time when you will also have breathing issues. The major root causes of all your problems are having excess animal foods such as dairy, eggs, meat, and fish. So the elimination of these foods itself will ensure that the body makes way to clean itself. Secondly, other foods that contribute to such issues are sugar, excess jaggery, the food with excess spices. Medicines play a key role in ensuring that more toxins accumulate because of the chemicals in the medicines. Medicines are also alien to the body and the effort of suppression of the mucus from coming out leads to further deterioration and worsens the breathing issues and other respiratory issues.

When you have excess mucus this also affects the GUT and feeling of hunger reduces. Food does not make a person lose or gain weight. The body sheds the excess toxins when it gets digestive rest. So you will continue to have a cold till your body feels you have toxins to shed in the form of cold. Once you stop adding toxin causing foods, the cold will also stop when the tank is over.

The only way to permanently get relief from these issues is to follow a whole food plant-based lifestyle with each food coming only from plants. Gluten here is an exception that you will have to make although it comes from plants we will still have to remove it from our diet. Gluten is present in wheat, maida, barley, oats and all the raw that is made from wheat. Do not attempt to eat any of the bakery products which are loaded with transfat. Oil and any greasy food must be absolutely removed from the diet.

Once you feel better join a yoga class and learn yoga and pranayama and practitioners.

When it comes to an inhaler, don’t remove it immediately. As you continue a high raw, more liquids, your confidence levels will improve, triggers will become less and you can continue only juicing when you have an attack, over time the intensity will reduce and you will get the confidence to go off the inhaler. But it’s a gradual process and it all depends on how diligently you follow my suggestion. 

Follow this:-

Morning on an empty stomach:

  •  500ml filtered / ash gourd juice/cucumber juice.
  •  Followed by Green juice or fruit / any watery vegetable like ash gourd /cucumber/ridge gourd/bottle gourd/carrot/ beet with ginger and lime filtered.
  •  More hunger tender coconut water or more pure juice.

Afternoon from 12:-

  •  A bowl of fruits - don’t mix melons and other fruits. Eat melons alone. Eat citrus fruits alone.
  •  Followed by a bowl of veg. salad if needed or more fruits are fine.
  •  Dinner 2-3 hrs before sleep with gluten-free - millets, rice, quinoa, oil-free, unpolished grains or dals 30% and 70% veggies
  •  Include some exercises that involve moving all your parts (neck, shoulder, elbows, wrist, hip bending, twisting, squats, knees, ankles). Join a yoga or gym and sweat out. We need to eliminate it via skin also.
  •  See if u can go to the morning sun for sometime in a day for 30 mins. at least. It’s v imp for healing.
  • Ensure that you are deep asleep between 10 pm -2 pm which is when the body needs deep sleep.
  •  Place a wet cloth on your tummy for 30 mins daily if time permits to improve the blood circulation in the gut and heal faster.

What to Avoid:-

  •  Avoid refined oils, fried food, packaged ready to eat foods, dairy in any form including ghee, refined salt, and sugar, gluten, refined oils, cooking with oil, medicines.
  • Gargle with turmeric and salt for 5-6 times daily even if the symptoms are not there
  • .Avoid mental stress by not thinking about things you cannot control. The present is inevitable. The future can be planned. Stay happy, happiness is only inside yourself. हेलो,

कारण - बार बार खांसी, जुकाम और गले में दर्द होना स्वाभाविक तो नहीं है । आपके शरीर में म्यूकस इंफेक्शन है। शरीर में मौजूूद मिनरल्स में संक्रमण होने की वजह से थकान  और कमजोरी महसूस होता है। आंतों के संक्रमित होने पर ऐसा होता है। शरीर में अम्ल की अधिकता होने पर संक्रमण का खतरा हमेशा बना रहता है। प्राकृतिक जीवन शैली को अपनाकर पूर्ण स्वास्थ्य का लाभ उठा सकते हैं।

समाधान- 1. ऐसा खाना जो कि देर तक पछता नहीं है उसका त्याग करें। जैसे दूध, गेहूं, मैदा, रिफाइंड नमक और रिफाइंड शुगर और पैकेट फूड।

फल, सब्जी, और कच्ची सब्जी का जूस को प्रतिदिन ले।

ऐसा करने से पाचन शक्ति मजबूत होगा और आंतों की सफाई हो पाएगी। 

2. सूर्य की रोशनी में 20 मिनट का स्नान सूर्य की रोशनी से करें 5 मिनट सामने 5 मिनट पीछे 5 मिनट दाएं 5 मिनट बाएं भाग में धूप लगाएं।दुख हमेशा लेट कर लेना चाहिए धूप की रोशनी लेते वक्त सर और आपको किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक ले। सूर्य नारी मंद होने पर  इन्फेक्शन अधिक होता है अतः आप जब भी सोए अपना दायां भाग ऊपर करके सोए। 

3. प्रतिदिन अपने पेट पर खाने से 1 घंटे पहले या खाना खाने के 2 घंटे बाद गीले मोटे तौलिए को लपेटे एक तौलिया गिला करके उसको निचोड़ लें और उस तौलिए को 20 मिनट तक अपने पेट पर लपेटकर रखें ऐसा करने से आपका पाचन तंत्र दुरुस्त होगा।

4. हर 3 घंटे में लंबा गहरा श्वास अंदर लें उसको थोड़ी देर रोकें और फिर सांस को खाली करें। खाली करने के बाद फिर से रुके और फिर लंबा गहरा सांस ले। यह एक चक्र है ऐसा दिन में 10 चक्र करें केवल एक शर्त का पालन करें जब आप लंबा गहरा सांस ले रहे हैं तो अपनी रीढ़ की हड्डी को सीधा रखें ऐसा करने से आपके शरीर में ऑक्सीजन की मात्रा का बढ़ेगी और ऑक्सीजन का संचार सुचारू रूप से हो पाएगा।

जीवन शैली - 1. आकाश तत्व - एक खाने से दुसरे खाने के बीच में अंतराल (gap) रखें।

फल के बाद 3 घंटे, सलाद के बाद 5 घंटे, और पके हुए खाने के बाद 12 घंटे का (gap) रखें।

2.वायु तत्व - प्राणायाम करें, आसन करें। दौड़ लगाएँ।

3.अग्नि - सूर्य की रोशनी लें।

4.जल - अलग अलग तरीक़े का स्नान करें। मेरुदंड स्नान, हिप बाथ, गीले कपड़े की पट्टी से पेट की गले और सर की 20 मिनट के लिए सेक लगाए। 

स्पर्श थरेपी करें। मालिश के ज़रिए भी कर सकते है।

तिल के तेल रीढ़ की हड्डी पर घड़ी की सीधी दिशा (clockwise) में और घड़ी की उलटी दिशा (anti clockwise)में मालिश करें। नरम हाथों से बिल्कुल भी प्रेशर नहीं दें।

5.पृथ्वी - सुबह खीरा 1/2 भाग धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। यह juice आप कई प्रकार के ले सकते हैं। पेठे (ashguard ) का जूस लें और कुछ नहीं लेना है। नारियल पानी भी ले सकते हैं। पालक  पत्ते धो कर पीस कर 100ml पानी डाल पीएँ। दुब घास 25 ग्राम पीस कर छान कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। कच्चे सब्ज़ी का जूस आपका मुख्य भोजन है। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है। 

फल को चबा कर खाएँ। इसका juice ना लें। फल सूखे फल नाश्ते में लें।

दोपहर के खाने में सलाद नट्स और अंकुरित अनाज के साथ  सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें और नारियल पीस कर मिलाएँ। कच्चा पपीता 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। कभी सीताफल ( yellow pumpkin)50 ग्राम ऐसे ही डालें। कभी सफ़ेद पेठा (ashgurd) 30 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। ऐसे ही ज़ूकीनी 50 ग्राम डालें।कद्दूकस करके डालें।कभी काजू बादाम अखरोट मूँगफली भिगोए हुए पीस कर मिलाएँ। 

लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। लें। बिना नींबू और नमक के लें। स्वाद के लिए नारियल और herbs मिलाएँ।

रात के खाने में इस अनुपात से खाना खाएँ 2 कटोरी सब्ज़ी के साथ 1कटोरी चावल या 1रोटी लेएक बार पका हुआ खाना रात को 7 बजे से पहले लें।

6. एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस(solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल  को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें।ठोस  भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ ले सकते हैं।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी और रात 8 बजे सलाद लें।

7. उपवास के अगले दिन किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में टोना लें। जिससे आँत की प्रदाह को शांत किया जा सके। एनिमा किट मँगा लें। यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 200ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में दो बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में मोजुद विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये। इसके बाद हफ़्ते में केवल एक बार लेना है उपवास के अगले दिन। टोना का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब आहार शुद्धि करेंगे।
