Hello Oiendrilla,

AMH levels are determined by the number of developing follicles in your ovaries. The most important determining factor in the number of follicles is age, as ovarian reserve diminishes over time. Ovarian reserve begins to decline in the mid and late 30s and AMH levels tend to be low in women in their 40s.
Age is not always a factor in low AMH. However, some women continue to have high AMH levels into their 40s, while others have declining AMH levels in their 20s or 30s. This can be due to environmental factors such as cancer treatment or down to inherited genetic causes.
Here are some of the ways to deal with low amh naturally.

Diet

Eat a balanced diet to improve your fertility. Choose foods that are rich in antioxidants, healthy fats such as omega 3s, lean proteins and vitamins. Eating a healthy diet can improve the health of your ovaries and eggs.
Include beans, broccoli, berries such as blueberries and strawberries, green leafy vegetables, spices such as turmeric and ginger and seeds (pumpkin, sesame) in your diet.

Take sunshine daily

Vitamin D has been shown to directly increase AMH levels, so take early morning sunrays daily for atleast 40 - 45 minutes, so that, your body can have the sufficient Vitamin D. Vitamin D can also help to keep your ovaries healthy.

Say no to smoking

Smoking permanently speeds up egg loss in the ovaries. The chemicals in cigarettes mutate the DNA in a woman's egg cells, making some of the eggs unsuitable for conception. So, it is best to keep eggs healthy and free of unnecessary chemicals.

Manage stress levels

Stress can produce hormones such as cortisol and prolactin that can interfere or halt ovulation, which also hinders egg production. Stress-reducing activities such as yoga, meditation, exercise or a warm bath can help keep stress and frustration at bay.

Yoga

Good egg health is aided by oxygen-rich blood flow to the ovaries. Blood flow in the body can quickly decrease from dehydration, so aim to drink atleast 10 glasses of water each day. Yoga is a healthy and relaxing way to improve blood flow.
Perform yogasanas such as the lotus pose, child’s pose, reclining hero and seated forward bend.

Sleep

A good quality sleep is extremely important for maintaining the circadian rhythm. So, have a good quality sleep of atleast 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night at around 10pm and also wake up early in the morning at around 6am.
Read books before sleeping for an improved quality of sleep.

Thank you

Dear Oiendrilla,

Thanks for sharing your concern with us!

We suggest you explore Wellcure's elearning program - Boost Your Fertility Naturally

Anchal Kapur is the instructor of the program. She also suffered from poor ovarian reserve. The conventional theory given out by doctors is that there is nothing you can do about it as you are born with a finite number of eggs only that have to last over your lifetime. The alternate theory is that new eggs can be made at any stage of your life through the stem cells. For this your body has to be in the pink of health. This is what Anchal will guide you to achieve.

Hope this helps!
