I've a friend. She has lower back pain which extends to her quads. The pain is in the centre of the lower back and extends to left quad. Please tell us how to cure it naturally and how much time will it take?

Any pain in the body indicates that there is an accumulation of toxins which usually results due to improper lifestyle and regular consumption of fatty, spicy, processed and packaged foods. It is important for a healthy body and mind that we always follow the correct lifestyle and eat right. For getting relief from pain, here are some tips to follow a good lifestyle and eating habits along with some yoga.

Proper rest is also important because sometimes improper blood circulation also results in pain. 

Foods to eat- 

  • Start the day with a glass of warm water with lemon juice in it. This will help to boost your metabolism as well as to eliminate the toxins out of the body. 
  • Eat only plant-based natural foods. 
  • Eat fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and vegetables. 
  • Include salads, sprouts, nuts, and beans in your diet. 
  • Drink freshly prepared homemade fruit juices with fibers. 
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to be hydrated. 

Foods to avoid- 

  • Avoid dairy products and animal foods. 
  • Avoid processed, packaged, oily, and spicy foods. 
  • Avoid carbonated drinks. 
  • Avoid tea, coffee, and other caffeinated drinks. 

Physical activity 

Exercising is very essential for proper blood circulation. 

  • Do walking or jogging in the morning. 
  • Perform 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily. 
  • Do bhujanga asana, trikona asana, gomukha asana and padahasta asana for an improved blood circulation. 
  • Perform pranayam regularly, specially anulom-vilom and bhastrika pranayam. 

Sleep

Sleeping is important to reduce stress which may also become the cause for pain.

Take proper sleep of at least 8 to 10 hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning.
