Hi I am a post covid mother of 1 year old, can I pump and give my milk to elder daughter (6 years old)? How can I become healthier?

Hello User,

When our body recovers from any illness, it needs extra nutrition and care. Since you were COVID positive, your body is getting recovered from it, that's why you may experience some weakness and to deal with the situation, you should add nutrition to your diet and Yes, you can breastfeed. 

Here, you need to follow a correct lifestyle and diet for maintaining the circadian rhythm and to achieve a healthy body. 

Diet to follow- 

  • Have a variety of fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and vegetables. 
  • Eat sprouts, salads, and dry fruits. 
  • Have pulses, nuts, and beans.
  • Take antioxidant-rich foods like blueberries, amla, orange, or lemon. 
  • Drink plenty of water during the day, approximately 8 to 10 glasses of water to be hydrated. 

Diet to avoid- 

  • Avoid processed, packaged, and preserved foods. 
  • Avoid dairy products and animal foods as they are not meant for our human digestive system and lead to the accumulation of toxins in the body. 
  • Avoid tea and coffee. 
  • Avoid carbonated drinks. 

Exercise 

Exercising and yoga are very essential for good blood circulation in the body.

  • Perform 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily. 
  • Do pranayam regularly, specially anulom-vilom and kapalbhati pranayam. 
  • Do plank for 5 minutes. 
  • Take sunrays daily in the morning as it will provide the body with Vitamin D which is essential for the good health of bones, teeth, and muscles. 

Sleep

Sleeping pattern is very important for a good circadian rhythm which affects hormonal balance and hence the functioning of the whole body.

Hence, it is very important to have proper sleep. So, take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily.

The main thing to take care of, diet is to increase our protein intake. Our body has the power to regenerate only if we provide our body with the right type of nutrients, by following a natural lifestyle. These tips will help you regain your health and build immunity.

Eat:

  • Eating food that has a high amount of proteins are legumes, green leafy vegetables, nuts like almonds, walnuts, etc.
  • Seeds like chia, pumpkin, and flax seeds are also necessary.
  • Coconut water and even eating shredded coconut is found to be very beneficial.
  • Eating Vitamin C rich food will keepyou healthy and increase immunity.

Exercise:

Exercising daily for 45 minutes wih a brisk walk and 10-20 minutes sun basking daily is good for your Vitamin D.

Meditation:

You can take a deep breath, start healthy music in the background you can feel the blood circulation getting a boost. This will help in relaxation and ensuring healthy body.

Sleep:

Having a sound 7-8 hours of sleep is helpful in treating anybody's problem, a healthy sleep leads to a healthy mind and body. So make sure you are free your room from any gadgets an hour before sleep so you get a radiation-free room and a good tension-free sound sleep.
