Hello User,

Hypothyroid and PCOD both come from the same source of imbalance in our hormonal activity. In both conditions are hormones are not working actively in a way that they can help our body achieve the state of homeostasis.

Hypothyroid happens due to what we have been putting in our body, which is eating a tamasic diet (adulterated, rotten and unhealthy junk is considered as tamasic). In this case, when we load our body with this kind of food, our metabolism becomes sluggish, "hypo" thyroid happens. Here, our body starts pushing on more to reach an optimal level of functioning.

Now as our boy already in a sluggish state, the immunity is weakened. Our metabolism is surely going to become slow leading to low metabolism and difficulty in losing weight. as well as PCOD comes in the picture.

The main thing to treat this multidimensional illness should be about everything, food, meditation, sleep, and exercise which amalgamate for good health and reach your optimal solution.

The first thing in the morning is to start your day with something light in nature. Easy to digest is what your breakfast should be because they are the kind of nutrients that get absorbed easily. Even the early morning ritual should include consumption of two-three glasses of warm water will help in flushing out all the toxins.

The ideal diet would be to depend on fruits and raw vegetable intake for at least one month and refrain from something oil-based.

  • One inch of ginger boiled in two cups of water with one tablespoon lemon, boil them for 5-10 minutes. Consume this mixture during evening time to accelerate metabolism.
  • Consume methi seeds one tablespoon with a glass of warm water in order to increase inulin sensitivity and the menstrual cycle will become regular.
  • High selenium diet which is peanuts, almonds, mushroom, etc helps to increase the function of the thyroid.

  • Pranayam helps in detoxifying the body. Practicing it early morning in an area that has good sunlight will help in improving blood circulation.
  • Suryanamaskar, daily 12 sets will help in increasing the blood circulation of your body.
  • Cat and Cow pose helps in increasing the function of the thyroid gland.

In any kind of disease, stress comes complementary to it. But with our assurance and positive attitude, we can treat anything. The best thing to start with is breathing mindfully before sleeping with the help of music to stay positive. In a room take a bowl of water and add two-three drops of orange or lavender essential oil. This will help in soothing you and the aroma will relax you and keep you away from any kind of disease.

Use a 15-minute relaxation technique before sleep by hearing a piece of soothing music and deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind.

A positive attitude will help you to deal with everything in life.

Sleeping for at least 7-8 hours is really helpful in dealing with any problem. Sleep is our body's natural response and helps the body to heal. Sleep relaxes the muscles and strengthens our bodies. During sleep, our body goes into a repair mechanism where it heals itself.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you.

Thank you

Hello Rajani,

Hypothyroidism is a lifestyle disorder which is affecting a large proportion of the population nowadays due to increased adoption of a western lifestyle. It is a metabolic disorder which occurs due to an improper lifestyle and incorrect eating habits like having a high fatty diet, consumption of junk foods like pasta, bread, etc. All this lead to the accumulation of toxins and disturbs the circadian rhythm which results in various health problems.
PCOD is a health issue which is very closely related to the thyroid. Hypothyroidism results in hormonal imbalances which can become a cause for Pcod.
By making some changes in lifestyle and eating habits, both the problems can be cured naturally.

Foods to eat

  • Start the day with a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon juice in it. This drink will boost the metabolism in the morning and also will help to flush out the toxins out of the body.
  • Have flax seeds.
  • Drink green tea twice a day, once in the morning on an empty stomach and the other before sleeping in the night.
  • Cook oil-free or use cold-pressed oil.
  • Replace white rice with brown rice.
  • Eat the only plant-based natural raw foods.
  • Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Choose seasonal fruits and vegetables to eat.
  • Eat sprouts, nuts, salads, beans to fulfil the nutritional requirements of the body.

Foods to avoid-

  • Avoid dairy products like ghee, milk, paneer, curd, etc.
  • Avoid animal foods.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks.
  • Avoid processed foods, packaged foods, oily foods, and spicy foods.
  • Avoid tea and coffee.

Exercising is very important to improve the metabolism of the body which becomes very slow in thyroid patients.

  • Do 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily.
  • Do bhujanga asana, chakra asana, paschimottan asana daily.
  • Do kapalbhati pranayam daily.
  • Practice ujjayi Pranayam and bhramri pranayam. They are very effective for thyroid.

Proper sleep is very important to maintain the circadian rhythm which affects the hormonal balance.

Hence, take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily.

Sleep early at night at around 10 pm and also wake up early in the morning at around 6 am.

Thank you.

We do understand your concern about your health condition. Health issues such as PCOD and thyroid are often linked to hormonal imbalance. We would like to draw your attention to the Nature Cure perspective on the same.

Nature Cure believes that the root cause of most diseases/health conditions is Toxaemia- the accumulation of toxins within the body.  While some toxins are an output of metabolism, others are added due to unnatural lifestyle- wrong food habits, lack of rest and stress. Nature has equipped us with the measures of eliminating the toxins on a regular basis - through breathing, stool, urine, sweat, mucus depositions in nose, eyes and genitals etc. Whenever there is toxic overload due to insufficient or faulty elimination our body tries to throw out the toxins in the form of Flu, Loose-motions, cough, cold, fever, skin rashes and acute pain. Defying the body’s demand for rest and/ or suppressing the discomforting symptoms by quick-fixes like medicines, leads to an imbalance in the body. Periods are regulated by hormones - estrogen & progesterone. If there is a toxic overload on the body, it can prevent the hormones from performing their routine functions.

One can reverse this state of imbalance by getting back in sync with the natural laws of living. We suggest you enrol yourself for Wellcure's elearning program, Goodbye PCOS.This program will help you control PCOS with the help of yoga, diet, therapes and lifestyle.
