Drinking the raw juice of banana pith is known to have many health benefits.
Ingredients
- Banana stem: 1 ½ cup (sliced)
- Ginger: ½ inch
- Coriander leaves: ¼ cup
- Lime Juice: ½ tbsp
- Black salt: to taste
Method
- Peel off the stem till you obtain a tender inner core white thick core.
- Slice the pith horizontally into thin slices; you will notice lots of fiber clinging to the stem. Separate the fiber using your fingers and continue slicing.
- In a blender place the sliced pith, ginger, and coriander leaves and blend into a pulp.
- Pass the pulp through a strainer and completely squeeze the juice.
- Add lime juice and black salt and serve immediately.
Wellcure tip:
- Banana pith juice changes color due to oxidation. Best served immediately.
- The above recipe yields around ¾ cup of juice.
Eating guide:
-
Food Group: Vegetables (Raw)
-
Vegetables, particularly raw vegetables not only have a high nutritional quotient, but they are also rich in fiber and water content and are easy for your stomach to digest. They also help your body get the enzymes that otherwise get destroyed in the process of cooking.
-
Adding raw vegetables from the whole spectrum of rainbow colors available in nature ensures the intake of a whole range of macro as well as micro-nutrients.
-
Juices can be had in the morning or evenings too. While vegetables can be mixed with most food groups (except fruits), usually juices are best consumed mid-morning or in the evening.
