
Herbal Tea

Caffeine free tea! Yes, this fusion of herbs and spices is not only a great immunity booster, the flavours and aroma of its ‘herbal’ ingredients are soothing and stressbusters. Herbs in our food and drinks help our body to get rid of the toxins we are constantly exposed to. Surely, a great substitute to coffee or regular tea to start your day with! Also, the same recipe could be used to comfort you in case you are troubled by cold / headache!
Ingredients
- Water: 2 cups
- Spices:
- Cardamom small & big: 2 pieces each
- Cinnamon: ¼ spoon or ½ inch stick
- Laung/Cloves: 2 pieces
- Ginger powder: ¼ tsp or ½ inch whole ginger
- Honey: 2 tsp
- Lime juice: 2 tsp
- Mint or Tulsi (Optional)
Method
- Boil the water.
- Grind the spices - cardamom, cinnamon and cloves to fine powder.
- Add the above powder mix to the water. And boil for 10 minutes.
- Alternately, just put all the whole spices in boiling water.
- Cool the mix and strain.
- Add honey and lime and ginger powder (or the ginger).
- Serve in glass and enjoy the freshness of spices.
Eating guide:
- Food group: Teas & drink. Spices
- Apt for winter season, when you crave something hot.
- You can grind the spices and keep in an airtight container. Just mix in hot water. Can use in office too!
