No Dairy Coleslaw - add natural fats to your diet

This is a recipe to ensure that opting for a dairy free lifestyle doesn't necessarily mean giving up on some of your all-time favourite and much-loved foods, coleslaw for instance. Yes, the good news is that you could make your favourite coleslaw without dairy as well! Follow the recipe to discover how the regular mayo could be replaced with a cashew-based mayonnaise (cashew dip) to give you a smooth, creamy coleslaw. You won't be disappointed!

It takes just about 15 minutes to put together this homemade coleslaw. Make a conscious choice to skip the store-bought options!


  • Green cabbage: 1 (finely sliced)
  • Carrots: 2 (grated)
  • Red onion: 1 (grated)
  • Red cabbage: 1 cup (finely sliced) (optional)
  • Herbs of your choice (optional)
  • Cashew dip: about ½ cup
  • Rock salt and pepper to taste
  • Mix all the ingredients together
  • Chill for about ½ hour in a glass or plastic bowl.

  • Vegetables and and nuts must be added in abundance to our daily dietary intake. Both are not only nutritionally high, can also be combined with other food groups and even cooked meals.
