A power packed smoothie, enjoy the yumminess of mangoes in summers with the creaminess of ripe banans. Perfect for kids as a meal first thing in the morning or after the park time.You can choose to have only mango smoothie or mix it with any other fruit or dry fruit of choice. Smoothies are great way to get over the boredom of eating fruits whole, and also a perfect way to make sure the body gets perfect material to keep any illness at bay!
Mango – 1 – peeled and chopped
Dates - 2-3 (Soaked) - Optional
Banana - 1
Water – minimal
Cinnamon – 1/2 tsp
Basil leaves – only for garnish (Optional)
Soak the dates in warm water for an hour or so, such that they become soft. Deseed and put them in a blender.
Wash the mango well, peel, chop & add it to the blender. Chop bananas and add to blender.
Blend, add little water for getting the desired consistency. Sprinkle cinnamon on top & garnish with basil leaves.
Food group: Fruits.
Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. Can be eaten as evening snacks.
Great way to up fruits for kids, especially if going through round of sore throat, allergies, fever or cold.
Remember to eat alone and not mixed with dairy or meals.
