Jackfruit Jam – fresh, homemade jam!

Jams have a nice fruity flavour and are loved by kids. Here’s a simple one to make using jackfruit. Simple to make at home without any refined sugar or additives!

Ingredients
  • 10 ripe jackfruits pieces without seeds

Method
  • Blend the jackfruit pieces with very little water to make a paste.
  • Cook it on low to medium flame in a thick bottomed vessel stirring continuously.
  • It may take 7 to 10 minutes to thicken up a bit.
  • Take it off the gas and let it cool down.
  • It will further thicken a bit after cooling.
  • Stores well for 3 to 4 days.

Wellcure Tips:

  • Bananas can be used instead of jackfruit.
  • For added sweetness, use dates or raisin paste or honey after taking off from the stove.
  • Give some texture to the jam by reserving some portion of the fruit chopped into small pieces instead of blending everything.

  • Fruits are the easiest to digest and are packed with fibre & nutrition. Hence a great addition to your kids' intake.
  • We don’t advise cooking fruit since it destroys nutrients but still, this is better than store-bought jam and can be used as an occasional treat. Also, please don’t consider fruit jams to be a replacement of fresh fruits.
