Tiranga Salad - happy, healthy independence day!

It's now an established fact that raw living foods are the best source of nutrition for humans. Making a salad need not always mean exotic ingredients. Try this simple salad with a simple dressing thatwill enliven your taste buds.
It can be made oil-free just by skipping the oil. Do add a handful of sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds instead.

  • Carrot: 1 cup (shredded)
  • Cabbage: 1 cup (shredded)
  • Capsicum:: 1 cup (shredded)


  • Lime juice: 1 tbsp
  • Cold-pressed oil: 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Garlic: 1 clove (crushed and chopped)
  • Rock salt: ¾ tsp
  • Green chilli: 4-5 thin slices
  • Jaggery powder:¼ tsp (optional)
  • Mix all the dressing ingredients in advance. It allows the flavours to be infused well. It can be stored in an airtight container refrigerated.
  • Shred the vegetables.
  • Stir the dressing briskly and drizzle on the Vegetables.
  • Enjoy a sumptuous fresh and juice salad full of living foods.

  • Veggies, when eaten in raw form are your best friends with every meal. Loaded with enzymes and high water content, they aid digestion. They get absorbed easily by the body, providing health at the cellular level. Add them liberally in your daily meals.
  • Rich in fibre, raw veggies consumed as salad facilitate weight loss!
