Fragrant Brown Rice

  • 2 cups whole brown basmati rice, washed and soaked in 4 cups of water for 2 hours
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp (about 20 threads) saffron
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander for garnishing
  • dried herb for garnishing (optional)
  • sea salt to taste
  • Drain the water from soaked rice.
  • In a pan mix saffron strings and sea salt in 2 cups of water.
  • Add soaked rice to the pan and cover the pan.
  • Cook rice on medium heat till the rice is fluffy. You may have to add extra water till all the rice is cooked.
  • Garnish with fresh green coriander leaves and some dried herbs.
