Jamrul Juice - refined sugar-free!

Jamrul/ Java apple/ Jaam/ Java rose apple commonly available in most places in India. Tastes great to eat as it is. I have a tree in my garden and my neighbors too shared their harvest. Juicing it was the best way to use it all up.

 

 

Ingredients
  • Jamrul/Java apple: 2 cups
  • Dates: 6-8
  • Black salt: ½ tsp
  • Ginger: 1-1 inch
Method
  • Wash and clean the java apples to remove any fiber and seeds.
  • Remove seeds from dates.
  • Blend all ingredients together and strain and enjoy.

  • Decide the number of dates depending on the sweetness of the java apple, which sometimes tend to be very sour.

  • Food group: fruits

  • Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. It can also be offered as a summer cooler to kids just as they are back from school or play.

  • Remember to eat alone and not mixed with meals
