
Salad Sticks with Hummus - Increase kid's intake of raw veggies

Make peace with your kids when you want them to finish their carrots and cucumbers. Yes, carrot and cucumber sticks (or any other veggie of your choice) transform from dry and boring to yummy and creamy when served along with garlicky hummus! Here’s how to arrange a colourful plate of assorted vegetable sticks along with hummus!
Serve as a snack or before cooked meals. Happy moms, happy kids!
Ingredients
- Chickpeas: 1.5 cups (soaked and boiled)
- Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
- Garlic: 1 big clove (crushed)
- *Tahini: 2 tbsp
- Rock salt: to taste
- Vegetables such as carrots, cucumber or celery: as required (chopped into sticks)

Method
- Soak white chickpeas overnight and boil them till soft. Once cool, put the boiled chickpeas in a blender and grind.
- Add the lemon juice; keep the blender going until it looks creamy.
- Blend until mixture is smooth.
- Add the crushed garlic, rock salt and tahini, blend again.
- Cut your child's favourite vegetables into small sticks ready to dip in the hummus.

- Veggies, when eaten in raw form are your best friends with every meal. Loaded with enzymes and high water content, they aid digestion. They get absorbed easily by the body, providing health at the cellular level. Add them liberally in your daily meals.
