
Date Paste - An Easy Way To Cut Out Refined Sugar

If you have been struggling to cut out sugar from your diet, this is one of the best sugar substitutes. Date paste is a natural sweetener made from delicious & healthful dates. It is easy to make at home, easy to store. You can keep it in the refrigerator for upto 2 weeks & use it in your fruit smoothies, shakes & desserts. Ingredients
- Dates: 2 cups
- Water: 3 cups
Method
- Wash dates well.
- Soak 2 cups of dates in 3 cups of water overnight or approximately 8 hours.
- Remove dates from water, deseed them and set the water aside.
- Puree dates in a blender.
- Add a few tablespoons of soaking water to the date puree and continue to blend.
- Blend until the date paste is creamy. Add more soaking water if needed.
- Store in an airtight container.
Tip: If any soaked water is left, do not throw away, consume it with other fruit smoothies.
Eating Guide:
- Food group: Fruits (dried)
- Best to combine with fruit food group. Goes well into fruit based desserts, fruit smoothies.
- Avoid combining with grains, breads, non-veg based dishes.
- You can add some water, and lemon juice and consume as sherbet. This is an instant energizer.
