My daughter has recurring sinusitis. Am administering homoeopathic medicine and steam inhalation. Are there any other natural cures that I can give her as well?

Hi. Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinus caused by accumulation of toxic material. Body has an innate self healing mechanism, all you have to do is support your daughter's body in cleaning up these toxins.

 

Toxins accumulate in an acidic body environment. You have to focus on increasing alkalinity in her body. Give her a diet rich in fruits, fruit juices and smoothies (only fruit based, no dairy), veggie salads, coconut water, lemon water.

 

Give her veggie juices - Carrot spinach or carrot beetroot.

 

Dairy, maida and white sugar are mucous forming and aggravate sinusitis. Completely eliminate these.

 

Steaming is good. How often is she doing it? Try 3-4 times a day, add eucalyptus oil drops in water while steaming. You can also pour a few drops in pillow for inhalation while sleeping.

 

Hope this helps. Take care dear. It might need a bit of effort and discipline to implement what I said, but we have to do it for our kids. They eat so much of processed food and live in polluted air, we have to make an extra effort to help their bodies regain their balance.

Her body is eliminating via cold cough and sinus pains. It’s her body’s way of eliminating. She needs to detox and eat healthy and homeopathic meds are only suppressing it and giving her false sense of healing. I have been in that state and have made the mistake of killing time with ayur and homeo. Whatever keeps her in the state of good health without consuming any medication is what is called a cure. 

 

How old is your daughter ? Based on that we can help customise her lifestyle because depending on the age it’s possible to see how much we can convince kids.

Hi ...Recurring sinus is a signal that the body is constantly at work eliminating the toxic overload. You can support your daughter's body by giving her the right input of live foods, lots of rest and ample sunshine 
All three are natural material that will help heal the body from within
Try and ensure  your daughter gets at least 15 minutes sunshine each day and more. You will notice her nose block easing. Sun is a natural antiseptic and cell nourisher 
In terms of foods as suggested by other places up her raw. Give her powdered nuts in nourishing soups 
Reduce her grains non veg and milk completely -- try this for already 3 months 
Instead add variety of whole daals chillas millets with ample raw and steamed veggies 

Increase her rest and sleep time -- to allow her body to fasten the healing process

Immunity Booster

 

1. 7 parts turmeric (organic/pure) 

2. 4 parts cumin (jeera) 

3. 4 parts coriander seeds 

4. 7 parts fennel seeds (saunf) 

5. 2 parts dry ginger powder 

6. 2 parts whole black pepper 

7. 1/2 part of cinnamon powder 

8. 3 parts of elaichi (cardamom)  

 

Roast cumin, coriander, fennel, cardamom, black pepper for 2 minutes (without burning) and grind into powder. Add turmeric, cinnamon and dry ginger to this mix. 

 

Start with 1/4 - 1/2 tsp a day - ingest with water or sprinkle on food.

When the toxic load on the body is high, the body opens up additional drainage paths like sinuses to take out the mucuos. Mucous build up happens due to acidic foods - dairy, sugar, wheat, too many grain heavy foods, non veg , fried food, processed foods etc. Give her more of raw foods high in fruits and veggies. Explain to her and ask for her cooperation for a trial period so you have her buy in. She is sure to understand. All medicines including ayurveda and homeo are only topical and do not address the root problem.

Make her do anulom vilom regularly. Other breathing exercises can help too, check with a yoga practitioner.

You can also try a hydrotherapy technique - take 1 bowl of hot water (as hot as she can bear comfortably) and 1 bowl of cold water. Dip a hand towel in hot water and put it on the face, especially covering the sinus area. After a minute or so, when towel's temperature normalises, dip in cold water and put on face. Repeat this process 3-4 times or more if she likes it. It helps to accelerate blood flow in the area and loosen the mucous.

Let her sleep as much as she wants. Sleep is our natural doctor. When we sleep, body can focus on healing us.
