Hello Priyanka,

Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak, brittle and prone to fractures. It may occur in men and women. Women after menopause are more prone to osteoporosis. However, hormonal imbalance or any other disorder like thyroid may also lead to osteoporosis.

Reasons for osteoporosis

  • Family history.
  • Hormonal imbalance.
  • Diseases like thyroid.
  • Old age.
  • Lack of nutrition.

Diet

  • Start the day with a glass of water with a few drops of fresh lemon juice in it. This will help to boost the metabolism in the morning and the Vitamin C in lemon will play its role as an antioxidant.
  • Eat only plant-based natural foods.
  • Eat foods that are easy to digest.
  • Have fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and vegetables.
  • Eat sprouts, salads, nuts, and beans.
  • Drink freshly prepared homemade fruit juices to get easily absorbable nutrients.
  • Drink sufficient water to be hydrated.

Foods to avoid-

  • Avoid dairy products like ghee, milk, paneer, curd, etc.
  • Avoid animal products.
  • Avoid processed foods and packaged foods.
  • Avoid tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks.

Physical exercise

  • Do bhujanga asana and paschimottan asana.
  • Some stretching exercises like tada asana, trikona asana, padahasta asana, parvata asana are also beneficial.
  • Start your day with a short morning walk of at least 30min.
  • Walk barefoot on grass early in the morning.
  • Take sunrays daily in the morning.

Sleep

The sleep cycle is very essential to maintain the circadian rhythm. Hence, take a good quality proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night at around 10 pm and also wake up early in the morning at around 6 am.

Thank you

Dear Priyanka,

Thanks for sharing your concern with us.

Osteoporosis is a condition whereby the bones lose density and become porous. Let us try to understand why that happens.  As per Nature Cure, the human body works towards maintaining its pH or acid-alkaline balance. It functions optimally when the pH of the blood is slightly alkaline (around 7.36-7.42). However, wrong lifestyle choices like unnatural food, overwork without adequate rest, wrong thinking, stress, not taking in enough sunlight and fresh air and sedentary lifestyle, etc. result in a built-up of acidic residues. The body tries to restore the alkalinity of the blood by leaching calcium from bones. This results in bones becoming weak, porous, and prone to fractures. The way to reverse diseases/discomfort is to adopt a natural lifestyle, by bringing it back to the state of balance. A natural lifestyle supports the body by providing the right environment for self-healing.

We would recommend you to adopt a natural lifestyle. You can explore our Natural Health Coaching Program that helps you in making the transition, step by step.
