My mother blood platelets were down. A doctor prescribed IV fluid ( RL) but one of my friend in his 5th year of MBBS argued that IV fluid dilute blood platelets and decreases it however i am also working in a medical field for last 10 years and saw many doctor giving IV fluid to such patient but when i serched internet it also says that IV fluid decreases HB, platlets , PO2. Can somebody please clear my doubts so that i will discontinue or continue giving IV fluid to my mother..
