I am not able to take proper sleep in night. Anyone suggest what should I do??

Sleep apnea is again caused due to a toxic body. Adopt healthier lifestyles with no animal products / sugar / gluten and have more raw and slowly your condition will change. This is the same reason senior citizens can’t sleep as they age because by the time they grow to that age, they have accumulated enough to keep the nerves inflammed and keep them awake. It impacts the endocrine glands and melatonin secretion along with others will also be impacted. Well, I don’t have to be so specific, but the entire body needs a deto. For this to change. You can’t get relief with myths like a warm glass of milk / medication / meditation / honey and things like this

An improper diet and lifestyle causes aggravation of Vata.
That travels through the channels of the head causing sleeplessness. Vata is aggravated by increased intake of tea and coffee, especially, before going to bed; long gaps between meals; and intake of cold drinks.
Suppressed emotions, disturbed sleeping patterns, worries, anger, overwork, overexcitement, and ill health may be other responsible factors.

This leads to over the period of time as;

Waking up during the night

Waking up too early

Day time irritability

Day time fatigue and sleepiness

Difficulty falling asleep at night

Watching TV or mobile for a longer period will become dryness of eye.

Going to bed with stress and negative mood

To some extent leads to Insomnia.

To overcome Follow Diet & Natural Lifestyle;

Have fresh fruits
Include nuts like almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and peanuts in your daily diet.
Include Fruit salad, Vegetable salad.
Avoid caffeinated drinks, alcohol, and aerated drinks after dusk.
Avoid watching television or working on the computer late at night.
Have a body massage with sesame oil, followed by a bath.
Massage your feet with lukewarm mustard oil 2-3 times a day and before going to bed.

This much information is not enough to comment or give any recommendation.

It is definitely a toxaemic state which disturbs the sleep of the individual.

General conservation of vitality by bettering foods, actions and thoughts can be commented.
But I suspect, this would not suffice you to get started.

Hence, I would recommend you to take up a consultation with a Nature Cure practitioner for addressing the problem, naturally.

Sleeplessness is lifestyle related issue. It is one of the major indicators of enervation. Enervation is the first stage in the evolution of disease. 

You need to take a look at your lifestyle, food habits, emotional health, environment etc. 

1 Connect with nature. Spend time in the sun breathing in fresh air and observe the nature around you. 

2 Eat mostly fresh, seasonal, local and ripe fruits and vegetables. Remove over processed, packaged and chemical laden foods completely.

3 Remove all types of stimulants from your daily routine like tea and coffee.

4 Be happy and peaceful. Be at peace with your circumstances. 

5 Keep the bowels active and regular.

6 You May get a simple head massage along with back, neck and shoulder massage to relax the muscles.

7 Get active and mobile. Check your daily routine and if it is too sedentary please get into some sports activity, or go for walks and do yoga with pranayam. And make it a point to move as often as possible.

8 Just before bed you may keep your feet in bearably warm water and keep a wet cloth on your head too at the same time. Wipe your feet and go to bed. This may be an instant remedy for your situation. 

9 Dont use any electronic gadgets atleast an hour before going to bed.

10 Practice yoganidra when going to bed. Deep relaxed breathing with autosuggestion to let your body go into a complete relaxed mode.

How important is Sleep

1. There are three important aspect of body - eating, digestion and elimination of toxins. Each is a eight hour window in an 24 hour cycle.
Eating - 12 pm to 8 pm.
Digestion - 8 pm to 4 am.
Elimination of toxin - 4 am to 12 pm.
2. Digestion consumes 75% of our energy daily. So ideally when digestion is taking place one must sleep for those eight hours. Any deprivation of sleep in these eight hours has an effect in the next cycle. Prolonged deprivation of sleep leads to cumulative mortal proportions and illness from common cold to cancer sets in.
3. Sleeping is like charging our body akin to like charging mobile. Sleep is the first positive sign if you believe cough is the first negative sign. If one is sleeping, like switch off and waking up like switching on, then it may be safely assumed that the person is holistically healthy.Sound sleep is the meter of overall well-being. This has to be natural and free of substance abuse.

How to Judge yourSleep

4. Whether one has had enough sleep or not could be verified by the individual himself. If on waking up, he feels thoroughly refreshed, he has had good sleep, if that feeling of freshness is not there, it means that he has not slept adequately. Merely sleeping for a long stretch is not enough. There are persons who sleep for a long time and yet have insomnia. Only persons who have sound nervous system can enjoy a deep sleep of good quality.


How to have Proper Sleep

1. Preferably have a light dinner two hours before you sleep.

2. No water after dinner.

3. Increase Sunlight exposure during the day.

4. Stop watching TV and turn off mobile and allbright lights two hours before heading to bed.

5. Avoid tea and coffee after 12 noon.

6. Fix the time of sleep and adhere to it.

7. Use eye shades while sleeping to avoid random eye movement (REM). Google REM to learn more.

8. Try Nidra Yoga to go off to sleep. Watch this video. This is a hindi version, english version are also available on Youtube.

9. Diary. Incororate daily dairy writing habit 30 minutes before you sleep.Just jot down the day's activities in a diary.

10. Do some reading (physical book) and avoid digital reading.

You should change your lifestyle n diet.
Decrease the intake of coffee n tea coz these stimulants increase cortisol level in your body.
eat atleast 3 hours before bedtime it will help you to get proper sleep.
get sun exposure in early morning.
spend some time in a garden or green environment.
Do scalp massage twice a week with good oil.
Do meditation n listen a good music before sleep.

There are lots of reasons for not getting proper sleep. This depends on your lifestyle, how your day went and what you had in the night. If you are having below symptomps then check yourself for sleep apnea.

Common sleep apnea symptoms include:

  • Waking up with a very sore or dry throat.
  • Loud snoring.
  • Occasionally waking up with a choking or gasping sensation.
  • Sleepiness or lack of energy during the day.
  • Sleepiness while driving.
  • Morning headaches.
  • Restless sleep.

प्रतिदिन आप ख़ुद को प्यार दें अपने बारे में 10 अच्छी बातें कोरे काग़ज़ पर लिख कर और प्रकृति को अपने होने का धन्यवाद दें।

मानसिक समस्या भी इसी शरीर की समस्या है सब कुछ इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि हम किसी भी परिस्थिति में सकारात्मक सोंच रखते हैं या नकारात्मक।

प्राकृतिक जुड़ाव आपको सकारात्मक सोंच प्रदान करेंगी क्योंकि प्राकृतिक जीवन शैली अपने आप में पूर्ण भी है और जीवंत भी है। पाँच तत्व से प्रकृति चल रही है और उसी पाँच तत्व से हमारा शरीर चल रहा है।

1 आकाश तत्व- एक खाने से दूसरे खाने के बीच में विराम दें। रोज़ाना 15 घंटे का उपवास करें जैसे रात का भोजन 7 बजे तक कर लिया और सुबह का नाश्ता 9 बजे लें। वाद्य यंत्र शास्त्री संगीत (instrumental classical music)सुनें।

2 वायु तत्व- लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें रुकें फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक टाइम पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें।

अपने कमरे में ख़ुशबू दार फूलों को रखें।

3 अग्Iनि तत्व- सूर्य उदय के एक घंटे बाद या सूर्य अस्त के एक घंटे पहले का धूप शरीर को ज़रूर लगाएँ। सर और आँख को किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक कर। जब भी लेंटे अपना दायाँ भाग ऊपर करके लेटें ताकि आपकी सूर्य नाड़ी सक्रिय रहे।

4 जल तत्व- नहाने के पानी में ख़ुशबू वाले फूलों का रस मिलाएँ। नींबू या पुदीना का रस मिला सकते हैं। चार पर स्नान करें सुबह उठ कर, दोपहर खाना खाने से पहले, शाम को सूर्य अस्त से पहले, और रात को सोने से पहले। खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें या खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा कर सकते हैं।

मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें। मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें। 

सर पर सूती कपड़ा बाँध कर उसके ऊपर खीरा और मेहंदी या करी पत्ते का पेस्ट लगाएँ,नाभि पर खीरा का पेस्ट लगाएँ।पैरों को 20 मिनट के लिए सादे पानी से भरे किसी बाल्टी या टब में डूबो कर रखें।

5 पृथ्वी- सब्ज़ी, सलाद, फल, मेवे, आपका मुख्य आहार होगा। आप सुबह खीरे का जूस लें, खीरा 1/2 भाग +धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है।

दोपहर में 12 बजे फिर से इसी जूस को लें। इसके एक घंटे बाद खाना खाएँ। शाम को नारियल पानी लें फिर 2 घंटे तक कुछ ना लें। रात के सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें, नारियल की गिरि मिलाएँ।

लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। इसे बिना नमक के खाएँ, बहुत फ़ायदा होगा।

जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन वर्जित हैं।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा।एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस(solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल  को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें।ठोस  भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ  ले सकते हैं।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी और रात 8 बजे सलाद लें।

Hello Devinder,

Wondering if you are overthinking due to which you aren't able to sleep. Anyways the best remedy has been 'Banana Tea' because it contains or induces natural melatonin. For Banana tea you need to bring one cup of water to Boil, to it you can add washed peel of Banana ( remember you wash the Banana peel properly). And then let it boil for another 5 minutes, add a pinch of cinnamon powder, drain the mixture and you can drink this tea, 30 minutes before going to sleep.

Secondly please practice mindfulness (Positive meditation) as it will help to relax your mind and avoid overthinking.
