Namaste,

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a very common digestive disorder

Stress and anxiety, infectious diarrhoea, excessive consumption of alcohol, caffeine or carbonated beverages and continued intolerance to lactose and/or gluten are often responsible for causing IBS

Change your diet and lifestyle;

Fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as fruit juices, should be consumed to reduce the amount of inflammation in the lining of the stomach.

Avoid consumption of caffeine, alcohol and carbonated beverages.

If gas is a problem for you, you might want to avoid foods that tend to make gas worse, including beans, cabbage and citrus fruits.

Some Home Remedies

Drink ginger tea or chew raw ginger to reduce inflammation caused by Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Prepare tea by boiling one teaspoon of flaxseed in a cup of water. Drink it at night.

If you are suffering from problems of fatigue, avoid excessive or physically demanding exercises. Always exercise at half of your stamina. Yoga can be beneficial. Breathing exercises (Pranayama) can also be helpful. Breathe deeply and rhythmically to strengthen the respiration system.

Thanks.

Hi! My husband also suffered from IBS for some time. In addition to factors like inadequate diet and lack of excercise, I think stress/anxiety is a very big factor. Each body is unique and every individual has his/her own circumstances. I would recommend to watch out for what are the key factors contributing to your IBS and try to adopt a multi-factor approach instead of just relying on medicines.

Once again, try to stay calm and relaxed!
