Hi, I’m suffering from acidity and severe migraine for over 20 years. Can anyone guide with natural remedies to help me. It’s getting worse with age.

Acidity is the most common problem nowadays. The changes in lifestyle and eating habits are mainly responsible for acidity and it also becomes the reason for migraine. A person is said to have migraine when there is sharp shooting pain in the head which may be associated with nausea or vomiting. This results due to an improper blood supply to the brain which results in an improper oxygen supply and hence it results in pain. The accumulation of toxins in the body and in the blood results in this problem.
Reasons for migraine:
- Excessive stress.
- Lack of sleep.
- Being on an empty stomach.
- Genetic factors.
- Excessive use of electronic devices.
Diet to follow:
- Have overnight soaked raisins in the morning.
- Have 2 glasses of warm water on an empty stomach in the morning.
- Have bottleguard juice and beetroot juice.
- Eat only plant based natural foods in your diet.
- Include salads, fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables in your meals.
- Have freshly prepared fruit juices.
- Drink coconut water.
- Replace white rice with brown rice.
- Have whole grains like barley, millets, oats.
Foods to avoid:
- Avoid packaged foods and processed foods.
- Avoid dairy products and animal foods.
- Avoid spicy and deep fried foods.
- Avoid refined sugars.
- Avoid refined grains.
- Avoid tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks.
- Avoid carbonated drinks.
Yoga:
- Perform bhramri pranayam regularly as it will improve the blood circulation to the brain and the vibrations that gets generated while performing the bhramri pranayam relaxes mind (Kindly do under the supervision of an expert)
- Perform anulom-vilom as it also improves the blood circulation in the whole body.
- Do 12 sets of suryanamaskar.
- Perform Paschimottan asana, chakra asana, trikona asana (under expert supervision)
- Start your day with jogging for atleast 15 mins.
- Walk barefoot on grass early in the morning.
- Take sunrays in the morning.
Sleep
- Sleep is very important for relaxing body and mind and relieving all the stress.
- Take a proper sleep of 8-10 hours daily.
- Sleep early at night at around 10 pm and also wake up early in the morning at around 6 am.
- Don't use any electronic devices like mobiles, laptops, computers, tv,etc 1 hour before going to bed to improve the quality of sleep.
