Please suggest natural diets treatment for chronic constipation and depression

Hello Namaste,

As per your question, Due to Depression, Chronic Constipation occurs. When you Come out of Depression, your constipation issue will overcome.

Depression: Is psychological condition in which the patient panics, suffers from social anxiety, feel excessively self-conscious and is worried about unrealistic problems. Anxiety disorders can last for six months or more and can affect normal activities, job performance and relationships. Patients with anxiety disorders worry excessively about their health, money & career among other things. Some common symptoms of anxiety disorder are restlessness, fatigue, irritability, muscular aches, insomnia/sleep disorders, abdominal upsets, dizziness, irritability and poor concentration.

Which results in;

Nausea

Palpitations

Sleep disturbances

Breathlessness

Dry mouth

Feeling of panic, fear & uneasiness

Cold or sweaty extremities

When you face all the above end results leads to Chronic Constipation.

This prevalent problem is due to an incorrect lifestyle and poor eating patterns. Although constipation is often looked upon as a common problem, if not treated or if Constipation treatment is delayed, it can lead to further problems such as fissures, fistulas, piles, lack of appetite and indigestion.

Change your Diet & Lifestyle Advice:

Increase intake of fiber, especially fruits and cooked vegetables.

An apple or banana each day is helpful. Bananas should be ripe (bright yellow.

Drink 7-8 glasses of water each day, preferably lukewarm in winters and room -temperature water in summers.

Have a mid-morning soup, preferably prepared with spinach and tomato.

Take daily morning and evening walks for at least 20-30 minutes each.

Eat whole grains and nuts.

Avoid refined foods like white flour, bread, pasta, pizza, white rice, etc.

Disturbing psychological factors should be removed, and meals should be taken in a relaxed and calm atmosphere.

The food should be warm and freshly -prepared, as cold and stale food slows down the digestive power.

Develop a habit of drinking water in the morning. Start with 2 glasses of water, and increase intake up to 6 - 7 glasses. It is more beneficial if this water can be stored in a copper container overnight.

Soak 3-4 dried figs after washing them overnight in water. Eat them first thing in the morning, and also drink the water in which they were soaked. They should also be taken in the evening. Try this treatment for 3-4 weeks.

Drinking enormous amount of water without real thirst is highly inimical to the organism, it will tax the kidneys and ultimately vitality to expel out extra water consuming lots of vitality
The treatment suggested is worst than the cure

Constipation is a condition when there is infrequent bowel movements and difficulty in passing the stools.
The underlying causes could be lack of dietary fibres intake, dehydration or lack of Physical activity or even sometimes medications side effects.
It can definitely be cured by natural mediums like drinking lot of water or other fresh beverages. Prefer eating whole grains and legumes and good amount of fruits and vegetables. Practicing yoga and exercise can be way too beneficial.

Depression is a phenomenon that's temporary but should definitely given an eye to.Dietary modifications are good but this problem needs more reforms like talking and sharing thoughts with others also diversion of mind in other things which you like.Yoga and mindful exercise should be given prime importance here also.
Do take proper nutrition and water too and consult a doctor if you feel like.

Chronic constipation and depression go hand in hand. The more constipated you are lesser is your minds capacity to handle anything.  

 

The solution to both is also the same. Your issue is the result of your current and past lifestyle and the cure would be a complete change to a healthy lifestyle. Changes you need to introduce in your routine :

 

1 Go out in the nature. Get sun exposure every morning and evening. 

2 Breath in fresh air and practice deep breathing. Learn pranayam.

3 Spend time in nature. Grow some plants and work with your bare hands. The more time you spend with the plants and trees, you will start feeling more relaxed and less depressed.

4 Eat lots of fresh locally grown seasonal ripe fruits and vegetables. Break your fast first thing in the morning with seasonal juicy fruits and do it as late in the morning as possible. You may have a simple lunch which consists of more veggies and less of whole grains. Dinner could be finished by 6 pm with either fruits or salads with sprouts and greens. Don’t eat after sunset.

5 Get physically active. Learn and practice yoga. It will help you move your toxins faster and help your body in eliminating and healing. The energy flow gets better through the body.

6 Be relaxed. Accept what ever is as it is and strive to make your self better. Let go of things and people, you can’t change or are of no use to you.

7 Declutter at all levels. Your home. Your life. Your gadgets, your body. Etc.

8 Sleep well. Rest well. Relax. 

9 Keep an eye on your bowel movements. Eliminate more than you consume.

Hello,
Constipation is a common disturbance of digestive system, in this condition either the bowels do not move regularly or not completely emptied. 

Symptoms: Infrequency, irregularity or difficulty of elimination due to hard fecal matter, aur other symptoms including coated tongue, foul breath, appetite loss, dizziness, depression, pimples, nausea, mouth ulcers, diarrhoea alternating with constipation, pain in lumbar region, heartburn, insomnia.

Causes: Much of the food we eat today is very deficient in natural bulk or roughage and this results in chronic constipation, insufficient intake of water, meat consumption, caffeine products, not chewing properly, overeating, cross diet,irregular habits of eating etc.

Cure:

  1. Most important factor is a natural and simple diet which should consist of unrefined food.
  2. Food should be properly chewed, at least 15 times.
  3. Sugar and sugary foods should be strictly avoided because sugar steals vitamins from body without which intestine can not function normally.
  4. 6 to 8 glasses of water should be taken daily. Water should not be taken with meals as it dilutes the gastric juices essential for proper digestion, water should be taken half an hour before or an hour after meal.
  5. BAEL fruit is regarded as the best of all laxative, it cleans and tones the intestine.
  6. Other important fruits include pears and guava.
  7. Drinking hot water with sour lime juice and half a teaspoon of salt is also effective remedy for constipation.
  8. A teaspoon of linseed with water before each meal provides both bulk and lubrication.
  9. Certain yogasanas also helps like bhujangasana, salabhasana, yoga mudra, dhanurasana, halasana, paschimottanasana and pranayama like anulom vilom are also helpful.
  10. Cleansing kriyas like jalaneti, Vaman dhauti can be performed. 

Treating chronic constipation also helps with depression. Activity and relaxation are also equally important for treatment of depression. Having a regular lifestyle, preventing emotional supression, performing pranayama etc are very helpful.

Constipation might be an indication of low water level in your body .

  •  Try to drink optimum amount of water everday.
  • Drink 1 glass of lukewarm water every morning to loosen up the faeces .
  • Add more green vegetables in your diet for proper functioning of your gastric juices.
  • Exercise on a daily basis to enhance flexibility of muscles thus enhancing your circulatory system.
  • You can drink dairy-free golden milk (turmeric milk) for betterment you can check my recipe on wellcure  too.
  • This can also be triggered because of stress in your life. make sure you are dealing well with your mental health by interacting with nature and practising meditation on a daily basis.

Depression can be really difficult to fight with but still, there are ways through which you can reach your state of inner peace.

Just keep practicing anulom vilom ,pranayam and meditation.

Switch to only fruits for two days. After that introduce raw vegetables with fruits in your diet. Within seven days you must feel better. Continue with fruits and raw vegetables for 90 days. Add 40 grams of dry fruit daily, two square inch of coconut giri daily.

Hi,

Natural Healing and Natural Living are not about remedies to specific conditions of health.

You need to approach health holistically with patience and perseverance.

The specific recommendations need more details about your genetic, environmental and lifestyle patterns.

In general, start understanding Nature more and more and decondition yourself from the humanly crafted lures of life, Food-wise, Act-wise, Thought-wise!

Both the conditions you mentioned are symptoms of bad health. The cause is the overuse of your energy.
Inculcating a habit of conserving vitality will reverse all the symptoms.
