Hello Mahipreet, Menopause and hypothyroid both make the body sluggish and as menopause is a physiological process hypothyroid happens due to what we have been putting in our body, which is eating a tamasic diet (adulterated, rotten and unhealthy junk is considered as tamasic). In this case, when we load our body with this kind of food, our metabolism becomes sluggish, "hypo" thyroid happens. Here, our body starts pushing on more to reach an optimal level of functioning. Now as our body already in a sluggish state, immunity is weakened. Our metabolism is surely going to become slow leading to shortness in breath, vision problems, nutrients not reaching the body causes hair thinning and low libido reflects everything accordingly. The main thing to treat this multidimensional illness should be about everything, food, meditation, sleep, and exercise which amalgamate for good health and reach your optimal solution. Eat: The first thing in the morning is to start your day

Why do I feel a dip in energy by 12 pm?

If you are having a very heavy, grain based breakfast you are more than likely to feel dip in energy at around noon. Cause body requires good amount of energy to digest food. Switching to a heavy breakfast of fruits early morning, say 2-3 rounds and then having an early lunch around 12:30, made a lot of difference. In retrospect, I think this was also about adding more raw natural foods in my overall daily intake. I did good rounds of fruits in afternoon / early evening too and added ample raw salads with every meal. The principle that body needs less energy to digest food when it has raw foods, seemed to have worked in my case. This allowed me more energy to sleep better / earlier at night. So that I could add a regimen of daily activity. I notice, the days I have done my breathing, and Yoga stretches well, my energy levels during mid day is better. I do feel a lull after lunch esp if I have had a grain based meal. That time I take some 20 minutes time out to refres

On days when one is feeling sapped of energy but has to be out, what to do about it?

Low energy is a sign to provide rest to body, in all 3 aspects, mental, digestive and physical. If you are not able to physically, rest, allow yourself some deep breaths whenever you can. If travelling, see if you can catch some snooze on the way (while in cabs or trains). Food wise, make fruits your best friend, especially bananas, have loads of it whenever you feel dip in energy. They are easy to digest. Do not demand energy from an already depleted body, and in turn provide quick energy.
